It can get loud as it is a big open space with hard surfaces. They are kid friendly and also have some games to play with. Seating are long tables & benches and also bar seating.
There appeared to be an upstairs too you can reserve for parties.
However, the service at the bar really took away from the experience. We sat at the bar top and weren’t acknowledged for several minutes. When the bartender finally came over, we tried to order a few of the craft beers they advertise, but they were out of several of them. When I did finally order a beer, it sat on the back of the bar under the beer spout for over 10 minutes before being brought to me. Which she didn’t even take off our bill or say she was sorry!
When our food came out, the salad arrived first, but the bartender forgot who ordered it and asked everyone around us — except us — if it was theirs. Finally I said that’s my salad. The pizza eventually came out, and again, it was incredible.
If you’re going to run a brewery-style place, it would be great to actually have the beers you brew available and to have more attentive, friendly bar service. Amazing food, but the service needs serious improvement.
Sincerely
My server, Lydia, was at my table within a minute of seating. She was kind and helpful in explaining the menu. She checked in on me and made sure food was to my satisfaction. Great job.
The pizza was freshly made, and the dough is made from scratch. Right now only one type of crust is available, with plans to expand this in the future. Pizza offerings rotate to keep new pies and flavors coming. My favorite pizza from this trip was the pepperoni. The fresh garlic added to the pepperoni just hit the taste buds right. My side dipping sauce of marinara could have been reduced with a few extra minutes on the heat, but still had good flavor.
Fresh sandwiches with good-quality ingredients are also available. I enjoyed the “Smoke Stack.”
Food is brought on paper plates, so do not worry about your kids breaking plates and bring them in for a fresh pizza pie!
They have a full bar. Local and import beers are on tap, and many other beers are available. At this time, their own beers are not available but possibly will be available in the weeks to come. They are not rushing the process and making sure a good-quality product is brought to their customers before introducing it. Great detail is going into beer production. Carbon filter and reverse osmosis water systems are being utilized to maintain consistency. I can’t wait to come back to try when they release their first brews.
All servers were well kept, clean, and had smiles on their faces. I did not see any staff playing on their phones; all were attentive and working hard.
The restaurant is clean and well maintained. I had the pleasure of taking a walk with the owner through the restaurant and taking in the smells of fresh hops in a beer wort that was being prepped.
This is a veteran owned business. I spoke with the owner about why he started the business and why here. He said he wanted to bring something to Guthrie that we didn’t have and something that can help be an anchor to our residents by providing jobs and a place where families can come have good food and build relationships with neighbors.
They have a great private party area on the second floor to host a birthday party, guys night, or business lunch or dinner.
Future plans of the ownership sound amazing as well, but I’m not going to spoil any surprises he may have!
Logan County, come out and support this great local spot, spread the news, and let’s keep it around.
BUT the pizza took almost an hour. It was clearly either made wrong or burnt. I don’t know because no one even bothered to give an explanation as to why. The waitress said we would get a discount for waiting and we did. They took a whopping 10% off of the specific pizza that was delayed, so we saved $3.
Again, the pizza was good. But definitely not worth the hour wait. And what kind of manager doesn’t even comp the sodas?!?
EDIT:
After the BS reply from Guthrie Brewing, I have lowered this to one star. I genuinely do not know how they keep a 4.8 because as soon as I told other people about this, they said they had similar experiences.
