I always enjoyed the San Luis Obispo location when we ordered from there, and for some Christmas dinner Chinese we made the trek to pick up a good sized order from the original. The atmosphere was lovely, but we were just picking up so I defaulted 5 stars.

The order was accurate and the staff was perfectly friendly. The food was just as I remember from the SLO location. I got a dense, savory, salty shrimp fried rice and enjoyed every bite. The sweet and sour chicken was breaded evenly, sauced completely and delicious. The honey walnut shrimp was something is never tried before and dang it was good.. big plump breaded shrimp on the sweet salty honey sauce with some toasted walnuts across the top.. the magic touch for me was what seemed like some bits of Kewpie or other high quality mayo in the bottom that gave such a rich creaminess to the bites of juicy shrimp.. I will be back just to order this, ideally alongside my shrimp fried rice for a super shrimp overload. The spring rolls where nothing special but hot and crispy when picked up.

The restaurant is a little on the pricey side but I think you get what you pay for and bamboo bamboo has filled the hole in my heart left from Mandarin Gourmet’s retirement and closure. Go here and have some great food!

Place was empty but don’t let that deceive you. The food was hot n fast. Delicious. It was just a place we googled on a whim and it was pretty good. Not the best I ever had but I appreciate how fast n piping hot it was.

We happen to Google and found this place near Morro Rock. We were looking to have Asian food. You can’t go wrong with Chinese food! The food came out very quick and fast. It tasted delicious! Everyone enjoyed it. Only 2 things are that this place will bring out food only, but not refill your water. I think you’re supposed to refill it yourself since there are extra cups by the water/drink area?..not sure because they didn’t explain how it works. 2nd is that their portions are not as big as I expected, but I guess it’s because they’re a smaller shop, but it was enough for everyone to get a taste. Overall, decent price and good food. Would recommend.

AVOID…Unbelievably bad food and overpriced! I should have been tipped off by the fact that it was completely empty at 12:45 on a Saturday! The server was not very polite when I walked in but I ordered the General Tzo’s chicken, paid $3 extra for the stir fried rice side, and got a soft drink. The total came to over $30! I was stunned but assumed the servings would be large. The side dish of rice was less than a cup (seemed like it was just white rice with some soy sauce added… not worth $3!) but worst of all, the chicken was very overcooked and each piece I ate had hard bits of grizzle and cartilage! The soft drink also tasted like the machine had not been cleaned lately. When I mentioned the problem with the food, the server only offered to replace it with something else…as if I would trust another dish from this place! If they can’t get a chicken dish right, I don’t trust them for anything else. When I asked for a refund since I barely ate anything, he refused and said that he was just an employee. He didn’t even offer to get a manager to approve it. I left all the food there and called my credit card company to reverse the charge. Definitely a waste of time and money!

It was better 2 years ago on my first visit, now the food is okay, if you like brown rice, there’s not an option. On my first visit, I had to order and pay first and then get seated, now you sit and wait to be attended. The attendant was not so friendly this time and there was a little fly on the wall.

This is a really neat place on main Street. There is a little serving robot which I’ve never seen before that I enjoyed watching and listening to. The menu is pretty straightforward and the food is as expected. Plenty of inside seating and a large frozen refrigerator of mochi for dessert.

I love the fried wontons that have a cream cheese like filling. And their pork fried rice is really good. I had the vegetable chow mein which seemed to only have broccoli and cabbage. It was tasty but on the oily side for me.

There’s a bar code at each table so you can order and pay without a staff member taking your order, if that’s what you prefer.

We will definitely return next time we come to town. The food we ordered was amazing . The egg flower soup was the best I’ve ever had .

If you eat in, they want you to place your own order online. I decided to go to register and place order to go instead. I got a lunch combo. Chow mein was just noodles, no veggies at all. Orange chicken was too soggy for me. Egg roll was ok. I had to give this place a try, but it’s not what I was hoping for.

Pros: the restaurant owners / staff are friendly, the chow mein and fried rice was good, cooked perfectly and the fresh cooked egg in the rice was delicious. The general tsos chicken was delicious. the robotic cat server was a cute added touch to this restaurant.

Cons: the bbq pork ( didn’t take a pic ) was too pink for my liking! Didn’t even resemble pork nor have I seen pork so pink it looked like it was colored with food coloring .. more than unimpressed it was served warm with some pieces feeling cold.. on top of a bed of lettuce. Some of the chicken pieces were not warmed through which makes me believe they were prepackaged frozen chicken pieces :/ the last thing was the price which was very pricey for 4 dishes.

I came here for lunch. I would say that the food was good value, but not great. It wasn’t very busy but the one server did a good job of keeping up with help of a rather cute robot. However, I suspect the robot slowed her down rather than helping!
Overall I can see that this would be a good stop for a quick and satisfying meal and there seemed to be several regulars there.
Worth going there, especially if you have kids to see the robot!
