You walk in first thing you smell is coffee ☕️ and you see an assortment of pies. Very cute diner with trendy decor. Friendly service very attentive and accommodating. The food was very good my French dip was great! Everyone in my party enjoyed there food. I tried the clam chowder it was bland. But everything else was very tasty highly recommended. The vibe and the look of the place is really cool. Oh! And the carrot cake cheesecake was rich with flavor was great.

Stopped in for breakfast. I had the savory biscuits and gravy with chicken sausage and scrambled eggs. My wife ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes.
Honestly, and I don’t say this lightly, but it was all so delicious! The best biscuits and gravy and pancakes we’ve ever had!
The service was friendly and attentive.
Everyone was polite and took good care of us. Since it was our first time, our waitress did a good job helping us decide what to get.
The restaurant is comfortable, clean, and in good order. No loud music or people on top of each other. Plenty of space between tables.
Oh, last thing, they make all their pies and pastries there, so definitely get something sweet while you’re there. We had a slice of Dutch apple pie and it was delicious!

Diverse menu with fresh pies and pastries. Attentive service. The best pancakes we’ve had in our trip. The side of fruit had sweet strawberries, pineapple, melon and blueberries. The veggie omelet and potato medley were tasty but needed to be hotter in temperature. The salads served with the Growers Bowl were fresh and flavorful. Great coffee. Healthy and tasty food overall.

I have been wanting to try 31st Grill for a while and it did not disappoint. Great atmosphere, delicious food, and fantastic desserts. We came for dinner and each got a different sandwich. Service was quick and portions are generous. We got pies and cakes to go. Can’t wait to go back.

What a great family restaurant, service was quick and friendly. Arrived on Saturday at 1130 and got seated right away. The Patty melt was amazing and I recommend the lemon Ricotta cheese pancake, it was next level.

Great menu options. We came for breakfast and tried the Brunch Burger with garlic fries and The Growers Bowl. Both were good choices. Tasty, good portions and filling. The pastries looked amazing, but may have to come back to try another time. Service was friendly and quick. Nice atmosphere and modern decor, outdoor seating. Our cost was about $25 per person for meal and drink.

We visited on a Saturday at 6 and there was plenty of seating. The avocado quinoa salad is my favorite. I use the dressing g sparingly as it is a tad sweet.
The burger was flavorful and well cooked. The bread as nice and toasted and service was quick. The fries are well seasoned and they have the BEST ranch. It’s a nice location with lots of options

Still by far the best diner in salinas. Maybe you guys can consider using the whole restaurant so everybody isn’t lumped together in one noisy area in the back. You have these big beautiful windows with a view of the street and the food counter. Maybe use that?

The lemon ricotta pancakes were amazing. Really full of actual lemon flavor, and the maple butter was really good too. Coffee is decent (to be expected from a diner) and service is quick which is nice.

Our second visit came on February 22, 2024. We came for lunch, at about 12:30 PM. They were busy, which we expected. We were immediately greeted with a smile by Eric. Someone vacated a table after about 5 minutes. The table was immediately cleared and we were seated. Very soon after, our server, Corinna, came to take our drink order while we checked out the sizeable menu.
Coffee was strong (which is not usually to my taste) but it was fresh (both caffeinated and de-caf) and not bitter. Our lunch orders: a burger (for my husband…and one which he said was very good; he was also very impressed by the piping hot French fries) and a patty melt for me. Lots of people can mess-up a patty melt (the patty is way too small for the bread, there isn’t enough sauce, the onions are minimal). Although served on sourdough instead of rye, this patty melt was amazing! I did ask for it to be “extra saucy”, so it might be a little different if you don’t do that. I enjoyed every bite.
Service was attentive throughout our meal. Corinna checked on us and refreshed our coffee three times. Oh! And I almost forgot to say I saved half my sandwich (it was large), so we could treat ourselves to pie; they had peach! (The one disappointment here is how expensive that was; if I can make a suggestion, 31st Grill…$9.95 for a piece of pie is rather pricey, especially since there was no ice cream available to serve it “ala mode”. $9.95 would be fair if that included a generous scoop of ice cream.)
Our first experience in January (after they’d been open one month) was still good…but they’ve gotten even better two months in. I’m pretty sure we’ll also be going back soon. There are lots more things to try on that menu!
