I asked our waiter for his recommendations for drinks. He told me the hot chocolate is made from scratch and is his favorite so I gave it a try. It was absolutely the richest and best hot chocolate I’ve ever had. It also stayed hot while waiting for my food and until I finished it. That was nice and unexpected. My husband had hot maple vanilla latte. He liked it.
I had the omlet and a side of bacon. I LOVED it. I loved the greens and mushrooms. The bacon was also very tasty, it didn’t taste like regular bacon. It was a little sweeter and had a deeper flavor than average bacon. The slices were also wider than I expected. My husband had the steak and eggs. He loved how his steak was cooked, he ordered medium rare.
The waiter, waitress, manager, literally everyone we interacted with was very friendly. I look forward to going back and highly recommend everyone give it a try. I will say it is NOT just a regular breakfast place. That’s what I loved about it. The food seemed healthier and fresher than most other places and it wasn’t just plain eggs and bacon.
I ordered the vanilla maple latte and it was perfect! A work of art.
For brunch I got the French toast with eggs and Turkey sausage. The bread for the French toast was clearly scratch made and almost reminded me of banana bread, that with the syrup and spiced butter was just to die for. Texture and flavor 10/10!
The outdoor area is absolutely beautiful. It’s gated, lots of shade trees and extremely clean.
Our server was kind, attentive and made sure we were taken care of.
I see myself frequenting this place for morning coffee and Saturday brunch…it’s my new favorite place in Greenville. A true diamond!
Food:
For starters, my husband and I shared the house salad w/balsamic vinaigrette, golden raisins & sliced almonds & feta cheese ($8), and the seared scallops w/carrot ginger puree & maple butter sauce ($10)– both great. My husband really enjoyed his pineapple mint ginger mocktail as well ($4).
For main entrees, we had the grilled pork tenderloin (nice and tender) w/ cardamom sweet potato mash ($22), and the C+S burger (juicy & thick) with Swiss cheese & bacon aioli & mushroom onion jam (I usually don’t like mushrooms but this was really good) and fries w/house made ketchup, which tasted sorta like a fusion of ketchup & Carolina BBQ sauce ($12).
For dessert we had both the chocolate creme brulee w/pistachio brittle– great smooth custard & crispy caramelized top ($9), and the bread pudding w/candied pecans– just right– moist but not soggy w/fantastic flavor ($8). Both were terrific!
Atmosphere & Misc:
The owners did a table touch to make sure everything was going well & tasting great, and were both warm & professional.
We got there on the earlier side of dinnertime, so it wasn’t crowded & the other parties there at the time opted for outdoor seating. I really loved the interior, the mix of tables w/chairs & soft seating options, soft upbeat music, and the nice air conditioning, so we stayed indoors. Each table had a succulent, tea candle, and neat dinnerware, too.
There are two unisex bathrooms with barn doors, which is both trendy & great for accessibility (no stalls w/ swinging doors). Both were nice & clean.
All in all, a highly recommended local coffee shop/restaurant!
Food was fantastic.
