Staff are helpful and friendly.

Some interesting food and menu. Taste okay. Served hot.

However, The large moving screen annoyed me so much. I hope it was off.

the 葡汁海鮮餃 was unexpectedly interesting and taste good.

tho my expecations for this place was kinda low, their pastries REALLY blew me away!!! in a good way for once!!
their seafood soup dumpling tasted like old rotting seafood wrapped in some regular steamed dumpling skin to hide their perfecrions 0/5
we also got their flavourless fried shrimp paste in singapore style but uh its crispy at leadt 1/5
next off was their pan fried rice with cheese which tasted like pork sticky rice but the bland ver. while its rly crispy its bland. 1/5
next in the menu was their steamed spinach rice rolls with stuffed shrimp and Chinese dounuts, which was both dry and bland but the sauce helped it… 1/5
then we got their beef scallion in crepe which was dry with dry sucking the life and soul outta ur mouth but at leaat theres flavor!! 1/5
but u know what’s surprising? their immitation shark fin dumplings were pretty good and had strong seasoning bringing out the flavour of shrimp!! 4/5
but the siu mai and shrimp dumplings were nornal, with the siu mai being blander than usual 2/5, and shrimp dumpling being mid 2.5/5
their steamed chicken feet tasted like it was missing somthing as its kinda bland but the texture was fine 2/5
and u know what tasted like food court food? their beef tripe and tendon. it tasted like it came straight outta richmond public market and it wanst cooked for long enough so its extra chewy 2.5/5
but whats surprising was that their steamed sticky rice had SO much filling!! Its SO unreal for a restruant!! too bad they lacked in seasoning but its almost there 3.5/5
whej u eat a baked chicken pot pie u think its a bechamel sauce right? rhey made it CURRY but it was SUPER FLAVOURFUL AND DEKISH with the BEST TEXTURED CRUST that just crumbles in ur mouth. too bad the crust was too sweet 3.7/5
another (almost) legendary thing they made was their radish pastry- with the outer crust breaking apart unveiling its fluffyness and rich aroma from the lard, paired with the gentle fragrance emitting from the radish. its truly a beautiful pastry, but adding some chinese sausafe and mushrooms would elevate this to greated heights 4/5
but my expectations came down afain cuz both their shrimp toast and shrimp spring rolls were bland and just tasted like farmed shrimp.. however the tedture was fine 2/5
ome of the most beautifully presented taro cakes were also ordered, and while it was pretty its flavour was not pretty but pretty flat… it feels like ur eating a mouthfull of dry taro… grinding up half the taro would improve its texture way more and adding seasoning would make it appetizing 1/5
were not finished there! their scallop and tofu steamed rice roll, as well aa their spicy steamed rice roll tasted SO BAD. while the rice roll itself was fine, the scallop was SO fishy that we returned it, and the spicy one iust tasted like chili oil without the spice…. 0/5
their sweet and sour pork was only sweet… and its also chewy 0/5
their steamed pork stomach was acceptable, but if u hate the taste of organs then ull hate this cuz it just tastes like pork stomach w not much seasoning 2/5
next off is their black sesame birds nest dessert, which was so sweet that itll send u into hell cuz it feels like u just ate a block of sugar. however it is fragrant but its so bad u wanna spit it out 1/5
we also got their rose pastry which tasted like red bean, but its exterior was the BEST thing weve ever had with it falling apart in layers, with the gentle aroma of lard flooding into ur mouth once again. well done!! 4/5
their durian mochi was also well executed as its fragrance was great, as well as the texture as thet kept some bits of it uncut. but beware its super small 4/5
we ended off with their dessert tofu which wasnt as silky as the ones u would buy outside, which is legit the reason why u would eat this. its not really fragrant too, but the syrup tasted like ginger and osmanthus, which paired really well with it. 3/5
overall 2.8/5

Lanxuan was awarded 2024’s Dim Sum Chef of the Year, but something is wrong with current service execution.

After being seated, we waited a long time to be acknowledged. We finally had to flag down a server to bring tea and take orders.

We ordered 19 dishes of Dim Sum. Most of the food was not hot, must have sat waiting.

Our server had a surly attitude, which put a real damper on our family gathering.

Final note, the scallops did not have the right flavour and texture. They were perfectly circular and seemed like they were punched, not authentic. As a consumer, I have been fooled at the Chinese supermarkets, but I expect more from professional cooks.

The dim sum here is quite good — definitely above average. The seafood congee was the highlight of our meal, probably the best in the area. It was packed with scallops, clams, and large shrimp — flavorful and satisfying.

However, the service left a lot to be desired. We arrived around 10:30 and were seated in a private room. Our waitress seemed like she started the day on the wrong side of the bed — robotic and unengaged. You ask, she brings. You say thank you, she just walks away. The only time we saw even a hint of a smile was when she brought the check, hoping for a good tip. One time she brought in a wrong item, I simply asked what’s that? She replied -thats what you ordered. I kindly told her we didn’t order, she simply took it away like we made the mistake.

They really need to improve their staff training. On top of that, the private room was very hot and stuffy. I actually had to step outside for some fresh air.

I’ve been here before, and hated it. Apparently we ordered the wrong things so we went back to try. The radish pastry was good. I didn’t mind the abalone siew mai but I did feel that it was a little pretentious. The eggplant and tofu was delicious. It was crisp and topped with shrimp. And the last dish was a bean curd mushroom roll in pine mushroom soup. It didn’t quite taste like pine mushroom but it was still flavourful.

Located in Richmond Golden Village, 3631 Number 3 Rd #170, Richmond, BC where Golden Szechuan was before in Tom Lee Plaza across from Canadian Tire, before they renovated and changed to Marina One Seafood Restaurant. Now it is called Lanxuan 澜轩荟 Restaurant with the same concept as prior with just a few menu items and staff change, the rest is the same.

Dim sum from 10am-3pm and Dinner 5pm-9pm open 7 days a week.

I prefer the old staff, they were more attentive, but some of the new dim sum items are unique like the crispy shrimp toast and tofu bucket quality still yummy and fresh.
The abalone sui mai was the standout dish, offering a unique twist compared to the usual recipes around town. You pay for what you get with the elevated dining experience and quality, costs a little more than your standard establishments, but not quite fine dining prices.

The Cantonese dim sum they offer is lighter, making it a good choice for older customers.
Spacious and bright interior with reasonable sized ♿️parking which is rare. The high ceilings and ample spacing between tables are a step above the competition.

Only compliant from the elders since Marina One renovated, this establishment have mixed gender community bathroom although it kept clean they dislike the new generation type of facility even if private stalls. For me it has nothing to do with the restaurant food that I came for.

Will return give dinner menu a try in the near future, it also looked interesting

Some of the best dim sum dishes I had this year! And trust me I go to a lot of dim sum places with my mom har how, abalone siu mai, pan fried sticky rice chicken & the rice roll with fried sliver fish were what we ordered. All very impressive. They are on the pricy side. But go before noon you get 10% off and free charge of tea, which could save you almost 15% off the bill!

Had lunch (dim sum) first time with friends today. Apparently it was a busy day as we had to wait a little while even with reservation. The ambiance was great, modern and spacious. The food was delicious. It was a challenge to pick as their menu was full of interesting dishes. The service was excellent. The staff were friendly and attentive. Big thumbs up!
