This place is an absolute hidden gem and has to be one of the best sushi restaurants I have been to. To begin with, the atmosphere is amazing and eye catching , with the restaurant feeling like it was built yesterday. The sushi tastes amazing and fresh, with the sashimi melting in your mouth. The service is fast, and our sushi boat came in 10 to 15 mins. This has to be one of my favorite restaurants. 5 stars.

Sushi 99 in St. Augustine has quickly become one of my absolute favorite spots in town. Every time I visit, I’m blown away by the quality, the service, and the welcoming atmosphere. On my most recent visit, I ordered the steak hibachi, and it was hands-down one of the best hibachi meals I’ve ever had. The steak was incredibly tender, perfectly seasoned, and cooked exactly the way I like it. The vegetables were fresh and flavorful, and the fried rice alone is worth coming back for!

We have been there twice this month and the food was excellent. Our server, Kayle, was fantastic. She made us feel at home. I promised her a flan, which I made yesterday, Monday Sept 22 to take to her today Sept23 but I had not read they are closed on Tuesday. So, Kayle, if you are there in Dec, when I return to St Augustine, I will make another flan and take it to you.

Im giving 5 stars because compared to the other Asian food options in St Augustine, Sushi 99 is far better. However, our family has been going here since they opened. At first like all new restaurants, they were on their A game. Lately though, service has seemed a little slower, food is still good and the restaurant has a good atmosphere. Prices have jumped significantly, which has limited us from visiting more often. But, if locals are looking for good Sushi and Asian cuisine, this place is worth the visit. And for those who are gluten free, they can make dishes gluten free. Another huge win for Sushi 99. Chicken hibachi is good gluten free.

I am a big supporter of Sushi99. I am a frequent purchaser of Sushi and have it delivered.
Lately there is a tendency to downsize the serves. Its getting almost a joke. In the little delivery trays, a line of sushi (6) do not even fill the tray, they spread out a Calif roll, and still its not full. Another try for the sashimi, and same deal: 6 pieces and it comes nowhere near the size of the little try.
I complained some weeks ago, and the sizes returned to normal, but the price raised 20%! Now we’re going back to the Mini-sushi strategy.
Get it together, guys, or many will go elseshere.

A cozy place with delicious, fresh food. The service was excellent, the waitress was always watching us and all the staff were very friendly. We were served a small delicious appetizer on the house and when we ordered, the soups were hot and we loved them. The boat for two is an excellent option and 3 people can definitely share it.

WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! I went to dinner with a couple friends. We didn’t feel rushed at all and were able to enjoy a great celebratory dinner. I wish I would’ve gotten our servers name, but she was awesome!! All the staff seemed to work together great as a team. The food was so amazing. It not only tasted delicious, but the presentation was so beautiful. I hate making decisions on ordering so the nice server helped me decide and her recommendations were great. The sushi roll she picked out for me was heart shaped. I loved everything about this place! I will definitely be back!!!

The interior is gorgeous, very pleasant atmosphere. The booths are large and comfortable. The server was very helpful. This is located in a strip mall, so there is plenty of parking.
We have a lot of sushi places around, so for me this is what determines my final score. My go to is spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls, and that is what I ordered from their reasonable lunch menu. Both were good. Not great, definitely not spicy enough, but very fresh. The second time I ordered takeout, there was a bone in my sushi roll. I’ve never encountered that before at any sushi restaurant I’ve eaten from, but it wasn’t a big deal.
When we dined in, we tried the beef Negimaki for an appetizer. It was okay, but again, not exceptional. A little bland, a little dry, but somewhat tasty. The miso soup was also okay, but could have used a little more flavor. The presentation of the sushi is absolutely gorgeous! I loved the display on the plate. Super cool.
Overall, I will go back here again but I can’t rave about the sushi rolls I tried so far. I might sample something else from the menu to widen my scope, such as hibachi or teriyaki, or a specialty roll, and update my review accordingly. They do have a very nice range of options, and I believe a dinner is in our future soon!
