Located at the top of the Moody Gardens Hotel , a local higher end staple since 1998 (per AI).

I typically don’t waste my time arguing with a restaurants rating if I think it’s off base but this one is. 4.3 overall is negligent for this restaurant.

Their seafood offerings nearly as good as Galveston Island staple, Gaidos and 3/4 of the price.

Joshua , our server , was attentive , polite , and sociable. Their support staff was warm and welcoming and they made sure drinks were topped off, had excellent knowledge of the menu, etc.

I’m not a big French bread guy so that wasn’t my thing but nobody is picking a 4-5 star seafood restaurant for the bread.

The shrimp Dejonge starter was very well cooked, the cream and cheese sauce was almost a perfect balance.

The served a lemon sorbet as a palette cleanser and it was light and very good.

The Gulf Snapper was pan seared and beautifully cooked. I got the special with lump crab and colossal gulf shrimp and it was excellent.

I didn’t try the pasta but the Gulf Shrimp were “colossal” as described and well seasoned.

Maybe we just picked a night where everything was “ON” but I truly believe a 4.3 rating is much too low as there’s a significant difference between a 4.3 and say 4.8.

Absolutely wonderful views and delicious food. We had a great time and it was romantic. The service was great. Very professional staff.

We had drinks and appetizers, lobster bisque and braised pork belly. The bisque was perfect and the best bisque we’ve ever had.

We had cedar smoked salmon and a twin lobster tail. We really enjoyed the food.

Definitely reserve a table, go Saturday night

This was a lovely dining experience from start to finish. The restaurant was decorated so nicely for the holidays, and everyone in our party (ages 1-61) was treated so well by the staff.

The food was cooked perfectly from the steaks to the seafood. I enjoyed a red snapper Wellington which I’ve never seen on a menu before anywhere. So unique and delicious. The bread pudding for dessert was flavorful as well. We’d definitely return!

We stopped here on our last night of our trip to Galveston. Tuesday they have a surf and turf special (tenderloin and lobster). The food was amazing. The tenderloin could almost be cut with a fork. The lobster was sweet. Mashed potatoes were fluffy. Veggies very flavorful. The view is spectacular as you’re on the 9th floor. We had a table looking out. Very nice. Word of warning; it’s a semi fancy restaurant with some dress restrictions. If you’re plan on eating here, you may want to pack a dress shirt or other nice attire. Reservation required with credit card to hold your spot. Staff was extremely friendly and professional. Parking was not an issue. Recommended for that fancy night out.

I think what made our experience a pleasant dinner was our waiter, Oscar. He was on top and made sure we were taken cared of. The food and presentation were excellent. The setting and the atmosphere was awesome. We took toddlers with us (grandkids) and they were treated just as nice. I will come back for sure . It’s an upscale restaurant. Dress appropriately- Thanks for everything. Until next time

We had reservations for Valentines evening. They sat us on the side without live music and the best view. They didn’t have what we wanted to order. They were out of the pork chops and the heirloom tomatoes. Our server had an attitude and was not very pleasant to us. Very disappointing evening. We received the bill with no pen to sign. Had to ask for butter. Had to ask for lemon. Waited over an hour for our food.
Hostess station had a dirty empty Starbucks container sitting where you check in. It was still there when we left.
Hostess dreadlocks entered an empty glass when she sat a couple. The ends of her dreads went into the empty glass and they served water in it afterwards. Disgusting.
We felt very disenfranchised. Won’t go back. Sad that it has degraded to this point.

I’d give Shearn’s a five star for quality, quantity & service.
Located on the top of Moody Resorts, this restaurant boasts one of the best views in the city. They serve a really good steak & have quite a variety of cuts to choose from – New York strip to prime. Ask for the specials menu – there may beer something there that appeals to your palate, in particular. They also have a set meal option that may work for you as it includes starters or appetisers, entrees, desserts, the works for a fixed price.
The dessert cart offers quite a varied option from apple pie to cream brûlée.
Service is great but May be a bit slow. I love how the menu lights up so it can be read easily in dim light or for those with compromised eyesight.

Our dinner was in the lounge section. No dress code for this part of the restaurant. First time here and was delighted! First night was just cocktails, second night was cocktails and dinner. Pictured is a wedge, and lobster bisque. Not pictured was escargot, and their shrimp dejango. Talk about rich in butter and flavor! Of course we had to order dessert! Pictured is the cheesecake, bread pudding, and apple pie ala mode. All three were so good! Everything was amazing, food, ambiance, and wait staff. Stacey was the best! Attentive, recommendations, small talk, her drinks were great! She was the best that night! Will definitely be back again!

I was sat under an air vent. I asked to be moved and was told sorry……we are fully booked. The service was incredibly slow. Customers who sat down 30 minutes after us were enjoying their food were eating way before our food came out. Appetizers should have been fired together, there is NO reason why a shrimp cocktail should arrive 20 minutes after the hot Appetizers was delivered. It was so cold that my mother was using the table cloth as a blanket. I was really looking forward to this meal but sadly it was a disappointment on all fronts.

WOW! This is one of the best absolute best meals we have had in Galveston and the top 3 meals ever! Small, quaint, & quiet atmosphere with an excellent view of the island. The sunset view is supposed to be amazing, but we had a rainy day. We started with a French onion amuse bouche. I decided to go for their restaurant week menu, which is a 3 course meal benefitting Galveston ISD. I had the she crab soup that was perfectly creamy & crabby. My entree was a stuffed red fish with saffron risotto. It was well cooked and delicious. My fish needed a touch of salt, but it was still excellent. I completed my meal with their opera cake for dessert. My husband had their lobster bisque. It was tasty, but lobster was slightly overcooked. He enjoyed the ribeye, which was cooked to a perfect medium rare and well seasoned. My husband ordered their truffle potatoes, which were amazing! The sauces they had with them were fire! He finished his meal with their raspberry soufflé which was absolute perfection! Our meals were timed out perfectly, and presentation was on point. Our server, Joshua, was phenomenal! He was attentive and friendly. Highly recommend for a romantic date night! Prices were fair, and we agreed it wasn’t over the top expensive. We will definitely be back!
