I’m usually NOT a breakfast guy, but Toad in the Hole is an absolute game changer. If you’re not a breakfast person, you NEED to come here — they will change your mind, no question.

The eggs were insanely fresh, like farm-to-plate fresh. The scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly—soft, fluffy, seasoned just right, never dry. I swear for a second I thought Gordon Ramsay was back there making them for me.

What really sets this place apart is that everything is made right in front of you. No mystery, no “what’s going on in the back” feeling—just clean, open cooking where you can see the quality and care firsthand.

Everything is made fresh daily—homemade sausage links and sausage patties using their own recipe, fresh farm eggs, and you can taste the difference in every bite. The restaurant is super clean, the atmosphere is on point, and the staff is awesome—friendly, professional, and locked in.

The French toast sticks are the best I’ve ever had, hands down. And the sausage patties? Unreal. Best I’ve ever eaten.

This place is a straight 10 out of 10. Absolute must-try. I’ll definitely be back.

If I lived in the area, I’d come here all the time. I ordered a typical diner breakfast with toast, eggs, hasbrowns, and sausage but it felt really special. The sausage patties and (I think it was cranberry-pineapple?) jam were home made and the hashbrowns were perfectly crispy. So delicious.

My coffee came in a Christmas mug (it’s early December at the time of this review) and the plate was Christmas themed too. The inside of the restaurant is so cozy with homey, eclectic decorations. The food and the atmosphere just felt like a warm hug. And the service was great too. I would give Toad in the Hole a billion stars if I could.

The perfect spot for a delicious breakfast in Eagle River.
Fresh, farm-to-table ingredients, prepared with skill to satisfy any taste. The staff is very friendly, and the place is beautifully decorated warm and comfortable. Seating is limited, so keep in mind you may need to call and make a reservation, even a day in advance.

**A Hidden Gem in Eagle River – Worth the Wait!**

This restaurant is an absolute treasure, tucked away in the most unexpected corner of Eagle River. From the moment we stepped in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfectly complementing the incredible food. Watching the chef skillfully craft each dish was a highlight—it felt like witnessing culinary magic!

Be sure to arrive early or prepare for a wait (it’s a small space with only 20 seats), but trust me, every minute is worth it. The intimate setting only enhances the experience, making it feel special and unique. We loved every bite, every moment—this place is truly one of a kind. #Ubepancakes…and more

Worth the wait!
This restaurant came highly recommended by our local family, and it did not disappoint. Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious—our family of five ordered a variety of items, and we raved about all of them! The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming, adding to the great experience.
A heads-up: they can get busy, so it’s smart to book ahead. You can join the waitlist by calling or using the link in their Instagram bio. Totally worth planning ahead—we’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely delicious, and one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. My son and I got here right when it opened, and each ordered our own breakfast, and split an order of the ube pancakes. All of it was wonderful (including the coffee), and it was fun sitting at the counter watching the whole process of everyone’s orders being made. Thank you, will definitely be back (maybe tomorrow since the rest of the family who was too lazy to get up today now wants to go).

Stopped here on our way to the UP. This diner is VERY small and packed with so much small-town personality. We sat at the counter which allowed us to have a front-row seat to the cook creating all the orders – which we loved. The food and service was very good.

I was not expecting this level of deliciousness from Eagle River, not going to lie. I cannot remember a better breakfast in my life – 100% honesty. Highly recommend. It’s very small though, so good luck getting a spot without waiting for 90 minutes on the weekend, unless you go very early. The Irishman dish was so good. I wanted to go back over the weekend, but the wait was 2+ hours, so no go.

We finally made it here to try their breakfast and enjoyed every moment. This place is friendly and has cozy seating to enjoy your meal. Clean with a unique eclectic decor. The food is by far superior to most cafes. Farm to table everything is homemade and fresh made to order. Please try the Ube pancakes you won’t be disappointed.
