Came up to visit with my dad and had lunch here today. Decided to order gyoza as an appetizer. They were okay. Not very flavorful and the sauce was kind of bland. My dad got the lunch hibachi shrimp plate and I got the Bulgogi Rice bowl. My dad enjoyed his and it was a good size portion for lunch. The rice bowl was good. Bulgogi was tender. Lots of rice for which I wish there was more sauce because at the bottom even when mixed up a good portion of the rice was dry. Spoke to the waiter and he said they have been open for just around a year. My dad said he would come back. I would as well and try something else. They have a large selection.

Some of the nicest staff! I also thoroughly enjoyed the sushi. It was fresh, unique and not loaded with rice. The menu had a good variety of food without being overwhelming with too many choices. I will definetly go back.

We enjoyed the food very much. King Suno Sushi roll, jalapeño poppers, beef bulgogi rice bowl, and seaweed salad. We will be back. The presentation and service were excellent.

We have been to Sumo many times now, and have enjoyed each dish that we have gotten. The hibachi and noodle dishes are flavorful, and the sushi is fresh. The service can’t be beat. Quality, big portions (see pic of leftovers) We’ll be back! Try the sugar mamma (Thank me later!)

Wow, a lot of food for the amount ordered the Hibachi Rib-eye bowl. Steak soft, vegetables flavored just right. The spicy tuna ragoons were delicious.

This restaurant is a hidden gem. I haven’t had anything here i didn’t like. The hibachi is great,sushi is as well. The pad thai is really good too. Try it you can’t go wrong!

I love eating here! The staff is SO friendly and my son loves that they remember him. The food is always delicious and the portion sizes leave leftovers for later. I give 4 stars instead of 5 because there is no changing table in either of the restrooms and I wish they had better tasting tea.

I haven’t been here since it changed ownership, and boy was I surprised at how it exceeded our expectations. The sushi was fresh, super tasty, so creative and beautifully presented. The udon bulgogi was also excellent. The staff was friendly, professional, and went above and beyond in their service. Finally, the prices here are so reasonable! Far lower prices that competitive restaurants, and probably better food! The interior might not be as upscale as some other places, but everything else more than made up for it, and it was certainly just fine. Try them – I highly recommend this place!

I was in Asheville for work and was looking or some good Asian food, especially sushi. I am so glad I stumbled upon this great find! It was a early dinner and got seated right away. Great food options to choose from and amazing prices for the quality of the food!! The service was perfect and the cold glass for my beer. You will not be disappointed if you like sushi and don’t want to break the bank to enjoy quality. A must visit if you are in this area and love sushi!!
