I did not know how bad Chinese food could taste. I’ve had excellent Chinese food before, and when it’s really good you notice the difference. But other than the exceptional places, most take out Chinese is about the same. It hits the spot and satisfies.
Then I found Shanghai and it changed my whole outlook. If you ever want to feel good about the usual place you eat Chinese, give this place a try. I had no idea what truly awful Chinese food was before trying their food. Shanghai is a level of bad I didn’t know existed.
As we dished up our plates my daughter took a bite of the dumpling appetizer and spit it out. She thought someone spilled nail polish remover on it. That can’t be true I thought and took a bite. Nail polish remover is the only way to describe that taste. Oh well, it’s just the appetizer, so we will skip it.
My family sat around the table and started eating. Quickly we began looking at one another. Finally someone said it, “this tastes bad” and the flood gates opened. No one would take another bite. All the food went into the garbage and we ended up eating a frost bitten frozen pizza for dinner. A much better alternative.

I took a 40 minute trip in order to get this food and was not disappointed! I called my order in and by the time I got there it was hot and ready. I got the beef broccoli and general Tso, I got a chance to take a picture of the beef broccoli but the general Tso was almost gone by the time I thought of taking a picture if you LOVE spice I’d recommend getting the most hot for general Tso since the medium hot is just a bit sweet and spicy, you feel the spiciness right after. I also got the egg drop soup…I missed having a good good egg drop soup! The lady was so nice and funny I highly recommend this place.

Our meal was okay. We ordered eggdrop soup, wonton soup, chicken lettuce wraps and chicken with cashews.
First, the delivery was almost 1 hour! Chinese delivery never takes that long.
Second, the wonton soup showed up as hot and sour soup. The guy who took our order over the phone repeated the order saying “hot and sour soup”. Even though I corrected him, it was still wrong. I’m not a fan of hot and sour soup, so that was disappointing to receive the wrong item.
Third, they use a ton of onions in their dishes. That usually indicates filler and you get less meat. I’m not a fan of onions, so that was another disappointment.
The eggdrop soup was good and the eggrolls were decent.
First and last time we will order from here. What a shame.

My boyfriend and I chose this restaurant simply because they have egg foo young and it’s so hard to find at other places. We were pleasantly surprised with the freshness of the food and the taste of everything. We had the cream cheese ragoons, shrimp egg foo young, and the sesame chicken lunch portion. We will definitely be back!

How can anyone go wrong going to a restaurant when the owners cook the food and serve it to you. It’s a personalized service which many restaurants cannot match. A true Mom and Pop business.
The quality of food is great and servings very generous. With the soup comes the crackers with a pleasant tasting sweet sauce.
The ambiance is good and the music in the background is very relaxing. If you are looking for a laid back and relaxing meal give this place a try, I am pretty sure you will be pleasantly surprised. Whenever I am in the area I make sure I choose this place over others.

Stopped by here around 6 p.m. to pick up some dinner because I was craving Chinese food and saw online at this restaurant had pretty good reviews. You wouldn’t be able to find this place unless you follow Google Maps or you’ve been here before it’s located in a shopping center right across for a gun shop. A small restaurant, but looks clean. When I entered it there was no one there I ordered Mongolian beef which is around $12 and chicken with broccoli which I believe is around $10 not bad ((PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THEY CHARGE A FEE IF YOU USE YOUR CREDIT/DEBIT CARD. PLEASE BRING CASH IF POSSIBLE))
It didn’t take long for the food to come out the lady at the cashier was very nice however the taste of the food was not it!! Tasted very greasy/oily, absolutely no flavor. Wasn’t good at all in fact my son and I threw the food out. Very disappointing

I live a block away & never noticed this place b4 since it’s hidden from i10. Found it on maps as I wanted Chinese but didn’t want to drive to westheimer. There was no one there as it was NYE. The lady at the counter was very nice. I ordered the G Tso’s Chicken w/ upgrade of shrimp fried rice & sm egg Drop Soup & requested green onions. I love that they include fried wontons w/ soup! The chicken was good & the sauce had a unique homemade flavor. Rice was moist and flavorful. I was very pleased with the egg Drop Soup. Some places have that nasty thick goupy canned stuff but here it’s very delicious as if made in house! Fair priced & good portions. I will definitely be back & try a beef entree next. It’s a small place but they have several tables & booths. I’d recommend giving it a try if you are hungry for Chinese. One of the few spots in this area.

Wish I knew this was here a long time ago. This is an awesome place to get Chinese food. First off… Great prices! Like pre COVID prices compared to anyone else. They have a large menu, excellent lunch specials, clean place, and great service. The wife and I loved it. If you live or work nearby, stop in. Give them a try.
Easy parking, clean bathrooms, fast service.

This was my first time getting food from here. The guy at the counter greeted me and then handed me my bag. I asked was there dipping sauce for my crab rangoons (not packaged duck sauce) inside and he told me yes. I was pulling off and something told me to look in my bag. I had no dipping sauce NOR did I have any cutlery. I ordered to-go for a reason. I would like to be able to eat my food on the go. Anyways, when I turn around and go back inside for a second time to get a fork and dipping sauce, the guy walked up to the counter like,” what, what do you need now”. That was VERY rude. He huffed and puffed the entire time. The general tso chicken was good. The rice didn’t taste fresh. Tasted refrigerated.

The lady at the front with bang is very rude I asked for forks and she grabbed them but the part we use for food and had cash in the other hands $60. I asked for a hot sauce she rolled her eyes and huffed and puffed and told us to call the police we will not give you a refund. The beef was chewy and couldn’t swallow it the rice was hard. The cook then came out and told us get out very rude he will not remake it for us that’s all we wanted. I have the video on TikTok @girlsstea VERY RUDE. she also had a customer began to harass me saying im embarrassing myself and need to go home it’s a family business they are keeping there money wether we like it or not. It not about the food it’s about the customer service that made me request the refund.he then allowed the food to get cold without replacing it. It is a zero service zero food
