After driving 24 hours into town for a wedding, we were dead set on having authentic Filipino cuisine — and Mahal’s Kitchen absolutely delivered!

Even though DoorDash completely dropped the ball on our order, Mahal’s Kitchen went above and beyond with patience and diligence to make sure we still got our food. Their commitment to their customers really shows.

And the food? Absolutely perfect. Every bite tasted like home — comforting, flavorful, and exactly what we needed after such a long trip. Truly a “home away from home” experience.

Highly recommend Mahal’s Kitchen for anyone craving genuine Filipino flavors and amazing service! Maraming salamat po! Ang sarap po talaga ng pagkain ninyo! ❤️ ✨

We hired Mahal’s Kitchen to cater at our wedding reception and couldn’t have been happier with our choice! They were very helpful and accomodating in the planning phase (sent pictures and helped me figure out serving sizes), timely and efficient on the day of the wedding, and were very kind to our guests during service. There was more than enough food for everyone and we had plenty to give away and take home after the reception. Our guests loved the food, boba, and juice!

Super friendly staff, they were extremely good with suggesting additions/options for this order and next time without being pushy at all. Both my wife’s dinner and my own were 10/10. Had dishes I haven’t had in a decade and they just knocked it out of the park. The Biko rice cake dessert was absolutely insane. Almost like Mochi cake and Flan had a baby. Covered in caramel and just the right texture.

Stopped in for the first time today, everything was so delicious! The food had a homemade taste to it that made me feel comfortable and at home. Our server was working hard on the floor by herself and checked in on us frequently. I will definitely be coming back and bringing others to try it out!!

Our first visit here and the food was great! Everything we ordered was delicious and the service was fantastic. The karaoke on Fridays is gonna be fun also. I would recommend this place to anyone seeking Filipino food.

This was one of the best tasting meals and beverages I’ve had in awhile. The cucumber lemon refresher was beyond amazing. Now I want to try the other flavors. The garlic rice, BBQ pork and lumpia were fresh and cooked to perfection. I had to remind myself to savor every bite, as it was perfect. Customer service was perfect. Place was clean and peaceful. Will I go back? YES! Thanks for all you do to feed us hungry people. Chefs kiss.

Filipino food options are limited where I live in SATX. However, the filipino food here was…not the best I ever had. Enough to somewhat satisfy if you’re craving, but not really satisfying.

I thought the sinigang was way too sour and salty. It tasted like they poured 10 packets of tamarind soup mix into a small pot (ang asim!). The dinuguan could also have had more of the blood pudding/soup served with it, and more vinegar in the dish. The lumpia shanghai was a little burnt. And the pork BBQ was ok. The kare kare was fine too, I wish it had more peanut butter in it and some more shrimp paste. Service was also a little slow when my family and I went. We went during karaoke night, but there was only 1 other party in the restaurant.

The karaoke host can sing very well though. But also why are the speakers super loud? The tables are maybe only 2 feet from the stage We couldn’t even hear our server when we were ordering.

First time at this restaurant 5/16/2025. Food was is tasty and restaurant is very well kept and clean. Two comments: I ordered Pepper Steak but when I got home there were no Peppers (Mr Marvin apologized for the missing ingredient) Second, unless it’s the restaurant’s dress policy, I just think wearing sleeveless basketball jersey and flip flops just doesn’t reach restaurant professionalism specially when serving customers. Will I be back? Of course I always support and hopefully, I will have a different experience. Thanks Marvin!!

Mahal’s Kitchen Filipino restaurant experience was a gem. Family owned and operated this up and coming eatery is a feel good spot. First thing I personally noticed was the cleanliness of the atmosphere. Second thing was all the food was very organized & in it’s place. We went on buffet day. Walking through about 8 or 9 different varieties of Filipino dishes that all Filipinos know & love was great.
Third thing was the taste of the food. All the flavors are there. Now don’t get things twisted not all the flavors might be to your specific liking. Because no one can cook like your momma . But when tasting & enjoying what Mahal’s Kitchen had to offer I knew exactly what I was eating from the sour soup to the skinny lumpias you can eat like 50 of with no problem.
The fourth and final thing is the customer service. What I personally saw was a family doing something that stands strong in my heart. Giving everysingle customer focus & attention to making sure when you walk in that door you feel home. Attention to your customers is everything & is what will make Mahal’s Kitchen a rising star not only in the Filipino community but in San Antonio Texas.
