We were scrambling for dinner tonight we wanted something tasty, something with actual flavor, preferably something I didn’t have to cook. Then an epiphany hit: let’s try Moneecia’s Kitchen.
I’ve been eyeing this gem for a while now, silently supporting from afar on the Madison Foodie page on Facebook. And let me tell you… the verdict? Literal gasps. From both my boyfriend and me.
The fries? DELICIOUS. I don’t even understand how they get that crunch. Oh, and that seasoning is soooo good. These are my new favorite fries, ladies and gentlemen.
The wings? Don’t hesitate. Just get them.
My boyfriend got a burger, but I ate so much of my own food that I couldn’t even take a bite of his… tragic, I know, but blame it on the portion size! They are INSANE I love it.
In this day and age, I don’t know anyone doing portions like this for the price and immensely addicting flavor. I’m bringing back my dad, my mom, my friends… everybody. Because this food right here? This is some good food.

Absolutely one of the best experiences I’ve had. The food was delicious—fast, fresh, and clearly made with care. The service was welcoming, kind, and genuinely funny, which made the whole visit even better. Everything came out quickly without feeling rushed. Great vibes, great people, great food. I am soooooo beyond impressed with this restaurant!!!!! Let’s just start with the service and the atmosphere, so welcoming and friendly, came to check on us and chatted , made us feel so welcomed and we had lots of laughs !!! The food , hands down some of thee best food I have ate in awhile in the Madison area!!! Their Philly sandwich was delicious and I was so happy to see Hush Puppies on the menu !!! Of course I had to get some banana pudding for dessert!!!

In this day and age, it’s really hard to find an establishment that gives you your bang for your buck when it comes to portions, and this is one such place! The atmosphere always feels like a hometown diner. The food is fantastic, and the service is always kind and inviting.

My new favorite spot. Owner/staff very welcoming & polite. I ordered the cheese steak w/ff. My wife ordered the pizza puff/ff. Also added jalapeño poppers & peach cobbler. Food was wonderful. Peach cobbler was better than my mama’s but don’t tell her that! Trying the gyro next!

This is a little gem in the same mall where Piggly Wiggly is located. Moneecia’s mushroom onion hamburger was delicious. The hamburger was huge. The bun was very good. The fries are crispy and seasoned well. Portion was very large. I asked for ketchup and was given a hefty plastic container, probably 1/4 cup full, not the little packet with about a tsp of ketchup.
They were making chicken wings for another customer and they looked delicious. I’m definitely going to try them next time
The staff were very welcoming and paid attention to detail in building the hamburger sandwich.

So delicious. Second time ordering the gyro burger. Had to split it with my husband. Delicious! There aren’t many places around Madison that make gyros on the spit. So glad to see that that’s how they make it here. I don’t know what’s on the fries, but it’s hard to stop eating them.

Stopped in last night for my first experience from Moneecia’s, and wow, I am impressed!
My wife and I got the gyro dinner to share. Even as a to-go order, the presentation was terrific. The fries were hot, crispy, and wonderfully seasoned. Overall the meal was big enough for two adults, and would probably fill up one healthy teenager.
We’re happy to have a new place in a Cottage Grove, especially one better than other gyro places in the Madison area!

First time here at Monrecia’s kitchen. I’ve lived in the area for over 10 years and wasn’t aware this black owned business has been here since 2023! I was heading home from work and wanted something different other than Culver’s ( no shade) just tired of eating the same thing. I Googled gyro near me and Moneecia’s kitchen pop up so I had to give it a try. I ordered the gyro and fries and it was soooo good hot and fresh! Huge portion size too! Definitely will be eating this for lunch tomorrow. Establishment was very clean. Excellent customer service! Can’t wait to try something else on the menu. Thanks again Moneecia!
