I recently heard about this very exciting addition to the restaurants on Shaker Square, and it was an immediate must try for me. Sazani Oceana is an upscale seafood restaurant with a variety of menu options to try. I had the opportunity to go twice in one week, and it did not disappoint.
The decor is contemporary with hues of blue throughout. It is evident that great care was taken with creating ambiance for this restaurant from the light fixtures to the seating and even the restrooms. They also have a great bar area and a private dining room.
Dishes my parties tried included the Crunchy Rock Shrimp Deviled Eggs, Clam Chowder (Soup du Jour), The Gilded Wedge, Seafood Pasta, Lobster Wellington, Center Cut Filet, Crispy Jumbo Shrimp, Fish & Chips and The Signature Wagyu Burger. Desserts we tried included the Dark Chocolate Pave, Burnt Honey & Lavender Crème Brûlée, Whipped Avocado & Cacao Mousse and two variations of the Artisanal Sorbet. Everyone raved about the food, including its presentation and cited the restaurant as an excellent dining choice.
The portion sizes were great. I had leftovers to take for both the Seafood Pasta and the Seafood Bouillabaisse. Additionally, some of the combinations they curated were unexpected yet delightful. The menu has a lot of options and something for everyone, even if seafood isn’t your thing.
The owners and staff were very friendly and checked in to see how we were doing throughout our dining experience. There are still a number of items I would like to try, so return visits are on the horizon. I haven’t been for brunch yet, but I definitely plan to try it as well. They take reservations, so I’d recommend that. Definitely check out the unique experience Sazani Oceana has cultivated!

The atmosphere is superb! Upon entering we received a lovely and welcoming greeting from the host. She was very friendly and professional. Amir was kind and professional as well. Our server Malik elevated the expedience. His service, suggestions, and accommodating demeanor were greatly appreciated. We will definitely be back. The food was EXCELLENT….. the Crunchy Rock Shrimp Deviled Eggs, Seafood Bouillabaisse with squid ink linguine was one of the best I’ve ever had!! The mussels were fresh and the Black Garlic Butter Sauce is ridiculously good!! For dessert we finished with the Burnt Honey and Lavender Crème Brulee Tart was an uplifting and delectable twist on the traditional version.
You must try this restaurant.
Chef Josh thank you so much!!

I maybe biased but having dinner at Sazani was wonderful. Upscale dining with an after church home coming vibe was everything. I ran into old friends, loved hearing the laughter and chatter. Staff was on point with beautiful plates flowing from kitchen had me feeling like a kid “ooo look at that.” Bone in fish, huge shrimp (sounds contradictory but true) and I had the oysters. I shared the key lime pie which was delicious but get a knife. Only complaint if it is one bathroom
Was freezing but it was that way when Fire was there & the hand dryers are positioned for giants. Thanks for including vegan options.

My Fiancé and I went here for Valentine’s Day. We not only enjoyed the vibe and atmosphere, but the food was absolutely amazing. Both Akin and Josh were there greeting and being gracious hosts to all the guest. We can’t wait to go back to our new favorite place! Great job and keep up the phenomenal work, gentlemen!

This is a mixed review, came here opening night so I’m giving grace. But I do feel bamboozled because none of the food photos that pop up when you Google the place seemed to have been on the menu except for one item. Feels like false advertising, but anywho…..
Great atmosphere and the staff is kind.
Our server Bailey was not the most attentive and it resulted in us sitting for almost 30 mins with no appetizer or bread (10 of those minutes was us waiting for her to greet us after we sat down) and almost all hour with no food. We ended up taking the meal to go.
The deviled eggs were bland and the one piece of fried lobster (?) was too salty. I’m guessing each egg should’ve had a nugget to balance out the taste but our table only had 1. Also it was so many garnishes on them, feels like a distraction from the fact that they’re not that good.
The mussels were good just again the broth was too salty.
The Branzino was fried too fast, it was super hard on the outside and undercooked on the inside. Personally I feel like it needed a different type of fry batter than the cornbread. It was served with a scoop of carrot puree and a pinch of asparagus so it really didn’t feel like a full meal.
Now the bouillabaisse was great as well as the focaccia.
The best thing about the meal was the bottle of Moscato and the focaccia bread, it was sooooooo good!

We had the pleasure to for the soft opening. Isaiah our server greeted our party with a warm welcome and offered a cocktail menu. The unique take on the classic Old Fashion, The Old Salt Smoke was sugar forward and well presented with a cinnamon stick smoked dome. The Apps of mussels w/ house Foccacia and oyster mushrooms served with a creamy aoli were delicious. My friend ordered a perfectly cooked Seafood pastab accompanied by angel hair would target a preferred heartier bite served with linguine. My Wagyu burger was a perfect medium served on a pillow perfect house made bun with crisp pickles and potato wedges. A well deserved “add to your list of places to dine” on Cleveland’s Eastside black owned restaurants.
