I recently visited this halal fast food restaurant and had a great experience overall. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care. Shah’s Halal never disappoints! I ordered the chicken over rice with a side of wings, and everything was absolutely amazing.
The chicken was perfectly seasoned, tender, and juicy, layered over a bed of flavorful, fluffy rice. Topped with their signature white sauce and a bit of hot sauce for a kick—every bite was perfection. The wings were crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with bold flavor.
Not only was the food top-notch, but the portion sizes were generous, and the service was quick and friendly. Whether you’re craving a hearty meal or just some seriously good Halal food, Shah’s is the place to go. Highly recommend!

Was so excited to find out my favorite halal food store, Shah’s, opened a new store in Bergenfield, just 10 minutes from me. I put in an online take out order for lunch, which is thru Doordash. They have a 50% off offer going on for orders over $10 (up to $15 discount).
Upon arrival I found the store to be nicely renovated. The ordering and pay areas are right at the entrance. The dine-in area is at the back with few tables. Sadly the floor has lots of chips and markings for a new store, diminishes the look of the area a lot.
It took me about 20 minutes to get my order. Despite being no other customer in the store (some came while I was waiting) surprisingly it took them a lot of time. But the associate apologized for the delay.
I got the chicken lamb combo gyro and chicken platter. The chicken in both seemed stale to me. Probably it was cooked and just kept on the side without heating it. Since I just had the same item the day before in Palisade center store, I could easily compare the two. The white and green sauce made up the difference somewhat in the gyro. The chicken nuggets were cooked in front of me, those were pretty good. I hope they take some steps to keep the meat and the rice fresh for extended period.

Always trying new places. This place is a chain. Had the lamb falafel combo best part was the rice. Lamb was ok falafel was probably the worst I’ve had it was dried out hockey pucks I threw them out. My wife had the chicken lamb combo. She enjoyed the rice and said the lamb was good as was the chicken. Her one main complaint was too much sauce would have preferred it on the side. Their white sauce was a red flag it has High Fructose Corn Syrup and other ingredients that I avoid so I didn’t get any sauces. Almost got the baklava till I read the ingredients. It has artificial yellow no. 5 and other ingredients that don’t belong. I grew up on homemade baklava so this was a heavy pass. Probably one and done. Most chain restaurants cut corners and use cheap or artificial ingredients.
