Portofini is a truly local family run Italian/pizza restaurant. I personally love the rustic simple decor. It’s an easy unpretentious environment to relax in, with unobtrusive inoffensive background music. The staff is always friendly. It’s usually young women, and they’re very nice. But the service is not super attentive. The food is is the star. I’ve been here several times and have had: (apps)chicken noodle soup, fried calamari, and bruschetta-all lovely. (entres)baked ziti, penne vodka, and penne a la Romano(served in a spicy meat sauce with a touch of cream and parmigiana cheese). The penne vodka was especially wonderful. Beer selection is basic and only bottles, but they have Yeungling, so I’m happy, and they serve it with a chilled glass.
The last time I went I got lobster ravioli in vodka sauce(that night’s special). All the food I’ve ordered there was cooked with skill and care, and was delicious. I didn’t love the ravioli, but I’m very particular about that, and I’m rarely thrilled. I had to try theirs to see if it was the rare excellent variety. My ravioli came out room temp. When we told the waitress about it, she immediately took care of it and apologized. Not only did they heat up my meal to my satisfaction, they cooked me another complete dish of it to make up for my dissatisfaction. Now that’s customer care!

First, they send me a salad as I take a bite. I find a long blonde hair in it. The hair clearly belongs to the girl behind the desk … OK, I get over and move on

But that’s not what arrives what arrives is chicken Parmesan with regular marinara sauce and spaghetti .., Instead of offering to fix my food and remake it, they simply offer me a side of penne what a disappointing experience from a restaurant that’s been there forever. I will never go back there again or my family or friends. This truly is too bad not even a manager or anyone came over to apologize ….also the girl working front counter long blonde hair no hair net not even put up !

We had children with us and waited an hour for our food. Other couples coming after us got there food sooner. I rate an Italian resturant by its veal parm. I thought it was tasteless. As a visitor to the area I was not impressed.

Received our ordered and it was wrong, which was not a huge deal but as we continued eating we found hairs in one of the appetizers and one of the kids meals. I would have excused one meal but two… Totally unacceptable and disgusting ! I called and since we ordered through their website which directs you to slicelife.com they would not refund us for either meal. They offered to give us a credit but since we do not plan on ever ordering from here again we declined.

Pretty good food. Actually better than pretty good and the service was good too. No real complaints except the parking can get dicey as if there does not seem to be enough spots for all the patrons. It’s in a small strip mall so if I were you I’d get there early to get a spot.

Food is always excellent and great value. Unfortunately, takeout service leaves much to be desired. I often order takeout and have ended up bringing home cold food on multiple occasions. Last night, I arrived well in advance of the quoted wait time given to me at the time of my order, only to again find my cooked pizza resting on top of the baking oven, awaiting the kitchen to finish cooking the rest of my order. I finally received the rest of my order almost twenty (20) minutes after the quoted pickup time. Since this was the 3rd time that this has happened, I commented to the staff that the pizza will be ice cold, only to receive a short and somewhat insincere reply, “sorry”, we keep it on the top of the oven to keep warm, which it does not. No thought to say, hey, the pizza is on us this time or we will treat you to drink bext time you dine with us. The worker just accepted my $55.00 payment for the order and moved to the next customer. Very disappointing from a customer standpoint. Having said this, in the house dining experience provides good food at very good prices. JUST AVOID TAKEOUT IF YOU WANT HOT FOOD!
