Steilhang is a German-style alpine hut that sits above treeline serving Colorado-made specialty sausages, Colorado-brewed German draft beer, and soft pretzels and strudel made by Denver bakeries. Located at the top of the Lenawee Parks frontside terrain with stunning views of the East Wall and Continental Divide, Steilhang is open during the winter season and is only accessible by skiing or snowboarding to and from the hut.

Loved stopping in here for lunch. Always a big fan of a German themed lunch spot. Great selection of German beers. Sausage was delicious. Views are unbeatable. A few bucks cheaper would have been nice but I’m definitely coming back. Love A-Basins newest dining spot!

I believe it just opened last week Thursday even though the building was there last year.
I ordered a Buffalo Brat w/ Peppers and Onions. Very Delicious!
Got my order in 2 minutes and was back to skiing super fast.

Love the concept, but it was a bit of a let down. The dumpling soup was great but I can’t say the same for the rest of the food we got. Frankfurter was salty and the bun was old and served cold. Weißwurst should not be served with the skin, the skin is chewy and ruins the taste. The inside was smaller than I imagined and I wouldn’t say it’s a “German-Style alpine hut”. Great service

Kinda let down. Just a stale feel inside with no funk or culture. The only cool part of the place is the main sign for it. Even for on mtn dining a $17 brat is a bit over reaching. Not really worth it, watched many others look surprised and not buy one as well. They’d sell way more at a $12-$14 price point.
