After traveling for 10½ hours, we finally checked into our hotel in South Carolina and decided to grab a quick dinner at Panda Express. We arrived around 8:35 PM. The posted hours said the lobby closed at 9:00 and the drive-thru at 9:30, so we felt we had plenty of time.
When we walked in, the staff was already visibly cleaning and shutting things down. Most of the food was gone, and we were told they were not making anything new. There was no orange chicken, no egg rolls or spring rolls, and the fried rice was clearly old. At that point we were exhausted and hungry, so we ordered what was available and took it back to the hotel.
What was most disappointing wasn’t just the lack of food options—it was the attitude. The staff seemed far more focused on getting out on time than serving the customers who were still legally inside the restaurant. A DoorDash driver was also there and couldn’t complete their order because the kitchen refused to cook fresh food.
This made me question whether this is a company policy—do they only cook until they run out, or until they feel like stopping? Either way, if a restaurant is open, customers should reasonably expect fresh food until closing time.
As for the meal itself, it was mediocre at best, which isn’t surprising considering how long it had been sitting. The chicken was actually cold.
Overall, this experience left a bad impression. After a long day of travel, it was frustrating to feel like an inconvenience simply for walking in before closing. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I’m not sure I’ll be returning to Panda Express anytime soon.

I’m love panda express, but is too expensive!!! the food has lost some of it’s flavor, and tastes like flour! With the same amount of money, next time I’ll go to eat at the cinese the buffet!!!! Never coming again!!!

I enjoy going to Panda Express with the bottom line being the food is warm. The quality is nice and quantity is enough. I get it. It’s a little bit expensive for $10. You get one item and some size you spend another $10 then you can have a nice dinner buffet at a Chinese restaurant, but like I mentioned the quality and quantity is not bad and the freshness of food is good so I enjoy going there And I’m fairly a new member just about two months back. I became a member but I enjoy going there.

I walked in as a DoorDash driver and let them know who I’m picking up for. Lady said it was already picked up. Ok cool. The app lets you place the order. Well this said employee said the system won’t allow it. Why won’t it I’m clearly paying with DoorDash DEBIT card. Working just didn’t want to make the big order. Lazy people.

I live at the hotel nearby for 2 months. Panda express is my dinner preference every day after work. Stuffs are friendly. KungPao chicken is the best ever. Only bad thing is the steamed rice . Every time I try. It looks uncooked at all. They must filled too less water. I tried a couple times. Now I am completely give up the steam rice.

A little bit disorderly at one table they were doing packing at but the dishes were consistent and the food plenty. Chicken egg roll was only so so. Angus beef wasn’t good, spicy but not much beef, maybe 4-5 tiny pieces for an upcharge of mostly veggies.
Three visits here recently – first day, was terrible, rice was dry, the veggies undercooked on a number of the main dishes and the only thing that saved it was the orange chicken and spring rolls. Fortunately the next two orders taken to go were better… but still, that was weirdly inconsistent.

Went to eat there yesterday. The place is clean and has a good selection of healthy food. Amaya was super friendly and made us feel very welcome. Because of the wonderful experience, we are most likely to hit another Panda Express today

I was craving Chinese for lunch so decided to stop here for quick lunch at Panda express on River Avenue . This place was clean and the service was fast. I came before 11:30 am so the line was not long. I ordered the plate combo and for this option you get to choose 1 side and 2 meat entrees. I chose chow mein for my side. You can also choose from mixed veggies and brown steamed rice for healthier option; or chow main , or white steamed rice, and fried rice. And for the entrees I chose mushroom chicken and black pepper steak (extra $1.25 for this). I also enjoyed their veggie spring rolls because its crispy and taste pretty good for chain fast food restaurant. The overall food taste are pretty decent, need more salt for me but its good price Chinese fast food that offer healthier options and generous portion.
The people that work behind the counter also attentive with my order. Good fast food chain overall.
