Reviews
The degustation was well-balanced and the restaurant managed to deliver courses on a schedule that didn’t have everyone staring at me eating while they didn’t have food, which was nice. The actual food was excellent. Also I didn’t over- or under- eat with five courses – the courses themselves were smaller than the entrée & main courses everyone else had (they surely also didn’t starve 🙂
Overall a very good experience.
Even though there haven’t been many diners the times I’ve been there (I’d say it’s largely due to the construction works across the road) it still has a lovely ambience. The tables are nicely set, it’s tidy and the staff are pleasant, attentive and professional. I’m looking forward to more meals here.
I’m surprised there are not more reviews to this restaurant. More people should come try!
Thanks for a wonderful dinner
Music bit repetitive .
Stand out dishes were the prawn and squid roulade, lamb, and apple and almond pudding.
The roulade was savoury and comforting, but not too heavy, perfectly spiced for a cold winter day. Prawns and squid were cooked perfectly, retaining a good bounce.
The lamb was great – extremely well executed. I have no idea how they managed to get what appeared to be lamb rump to be so tender. The lamb was definitely the star of this dish, the vegetables were fine but treated simply.
Overall, excellent treatment of all the proteins and interesting flavour combinations. Will look forward to coming back again if their menu changes seasonally.
It had pretty much no flavour overall, just cos leaves with lots of olive oil on them. Random bits and pieces chucked in.
Definitely not worth $26.50 – didn’t finish it because I didn’t want to eat tasteless oil covered leaves.
The chips were also $9.50 and were the same portion size and quality/taste that you’d get from a place like Cozy Cake Shop.
Would not go back and would tell others to avoid
It is fine dining but it is excellent value, with prices not too different from standard good restaurants. It had good to generous portion sizes and was a lot less expensive compared to other local fine dining restaurants.
The website might be still under development and does have some minor issues. After I made the online booking I did notice that it put the date into American format and wouldn’t let me leave special requests as blank and no confirmation email was sent. However the restaurant was on to it and called me shortly after I made the booking to confirm. Also they are not yet doing the degustation menu that is advertised on the website but they will later on once they settle in and it looks great value so we will be back.
I only knew about this restaurant as I happened to walk past it one day but I really hope others find out about it and experience for themselves how great it is. It’s a tough time for hospo and for a new fine dining place to open in an area with quieter foot traffic, but they really deserve to do so well. Our family is still talking about when we can next go again and I am planning to go for the cheaper lunch menu with friends, can’t wait to go again!
Every single item was superb, and the Apple & Almond Pudding, was a game changing end to lunch. We also enjoyed a cocktail, and number of wines – and in joking with the waiter, saying would have preferred if the water was vodka, out came a compliementary shot of vodka! This restaurant should be proud of their menu and their delivery. I am sure this place will become a crowd favourite very soon.
