I’ve been coming here for a very long time and I’ve got to say, I never get tired of the food. Once you walk in, you get this nice quaint and cozy atmosphere and a nice aroma of that Mexican cuisine. You can’t go wrong with the agua frescas because they are out of this world and always taste homemade. The horchata is unlike any I’ve ever tasted (in a good way) and each sip from the agua de maracuya made from passion fruit is a genuinely splendid. I got the Torta and lemme tell you, it was one of the best tortas I’ve ever bitten, the carne is nice and juicy while also seared to perfection, and along with the freshly picked ingredients. I also got the Nacho fries which were very nice and dedicate (but make sure to eat with a fork). The service is always nice and very welcoming. This restaurant checks off all the boxes and it’s surprising that it has not earned a Michelin star, yet. Onions & Cilantro is one of the best Mexican Restaurante in not only buck town but in all of Chicago itself.

Came to Chicago from michigan and decided to try this place out. Let me tell you the food was good! The service was good as well, didn’t encounter any attitude. My daughter and I got chicken fajitas and chicken nachos and we loved it. No fat on the chicken, everything had flavor! The horchata was ok a little watered down but not bad. Definitely will be on our list of places to go back to.

I moved to Chicago from Texas and this is the best, authentic Mexican food on this side of town! The food here is ALWAYS consistent. They always have the best cut of meat, superb ingredients, generous portions, reasonable prices, and phenomenal staff!! Whenever I come here, I am greeted like family and treated as such! Y’all have definitely gained a loyal patron!

Wow, really good flavor! We got nachos with chicken, and steak tacos. Good quality meat. Everything tasted great. Takeout was packaged great and still hot when we got home after an 8 min walk in winter. Will return if in the area again!

Onions and cilantro is on my top spots for tacos! How it isn’t more know is beyond me! I will say it is amazing! The food speaks for itself. Beyond Amazing! I got the three taco dinner and my friend for the fajitas! The owners even gave us a more mild salsa to try. have to say they are amazing! Loved the food and the service was great!

Pretty good tacos at a reasonable price. Pollo was by far our favorite! Juicy and flavorful. We were really looking forward to the arrachera and al pastor but both were a bit underwhelming on flavor. Beans and rice were great! Friendly service.

We had gotten the Barbacoa & Arrachera Tacos & Toastadas. They were amazingly seasoned. The 2 salsas had great flavor and was not a spice that over powered the flavor. Can’t wait to go back when we are in the Chicago Area.

I visited this place during lunch and wasn’t disappointed. It’s almost unheard of for even the best restaurants to maintain a 4.9 rating on Google and when you eat their food you’ll taste how they can manage to do it. I believe it was the owner that took my order. She was very welcoming and polite, food was off the chain, prices are pre covid $10 for three bomb tacos what more can you ask for!!
