We grabbed brunch at The Glass Hat this morning in Bossier and had a solid experience overall. Hubby ordered the meat omelette and I went with the one-egg breakfast plate—both were good, nothing mind-blowing, nothing bad either.

But the star of the table? The King Cake French toast. We split an order and it was divine—easily the best bite of the meal and the one thing I’d happily go back for.

Service was fast, and the art deco vibe inside is really cool—cute atmosphere, fun details, and it feels like a place that’s trying to be a little different (in a good way). The only downside was our waitress was super chatty—like “full life story” chatty. I swear I have that effect on people, but still… brunch is not my preferred time for a TED Talk.

All in all: okay. Not the best brunch I’ve had, not the worst—worth trying, especially if you want that King Cake French toast

The Food was very good. Easily the best cooked Beignets I’ve had in the city, absolutely phenomenal fried tomatoes. Omelets weren’t my favorite but very good either way. Our entire table (including a 5 and 9 year old) enjoyed the food. We did wait a pretty long time for food. No less than 30min to order drinks, and another 20-35min to order food. The food came out sparticaly and drinks came at the same time (I think this was the server not the kitchen). Service was pretty good but is the primary reason for the reduction in stars. We called ahead to ensure our group of 5 adults and 2 kids could be acomadated we were told it wouldn’t be an issue. We get to the restaurant and the majority of tables had not been bussed. This was confusing because there were only maybe 4 other tables seated, so we ended up clearing off our own tables and, with permission, slid tables together. Our waitress was very sweet, but very confused. I feel bad leaving a low review but she was clearly not in her right mind for one reason or another. her behavior was abnormal and other patrons also commented about it. Other waiters had to service our table for simple things like silverware and drinks because our waitress was “spaced out” the entire time. To the point, she should’ve been sent home simply for being a liability. She could not have been a nicer person, but if you’re talking to yourself and forgetting something said to you 10seconds prior, there’s an issue. I really think she was maybe having an off day. Atmosphere, it was very, very cold. I keep my home at 68° and even I thought it was cold in there. Easily below 65, very uncomfortable and the overhead fans were running, making it worse. Definitely a place I’d like to eat at again with the hope that the wait service, temperature control, and wait times were just off that day.

Ready cute place with art deco decor. Wait staff are personable and friendly. Seem to know their regulars well and have built a good rapport with the community.

We ordered grits, biscuits, French toast, waffles, and the pink breakfast. My husband ordered a basted egg and they delivered.

Overall a great experience.

I love this place! The restaurant is adorable, and the staff is so friendly and just good at what they all do.

The omelets are fabulous & the fried green tomato BLT with horseradish mayo (pictured) is my very favorite sandwich.

It’s a quaint, medium sized restaurant, went around 950 am and got caught behind a rather large party which delayed everyone else from getting food for about an hour. It was a pleasure though because the waitress Amanda warned of this impending doom.

Nevertheless, amanda trudged on and and was serving all the tables that she could and she was all over when it seemed some of the other waitresses were focusing more on the large party.

Long story short, great food, great atmosphere, will go again.

Keep your chin up, Amanda, you did a great job with what you were dealing with.

The woman at the bar was nice and quick to help us. We ordered biscuits and gravy and my wife got toast and grits. That was 45 minutes ago. Not really busy, just really really slow.
