Like the interior. Beautiful sitting arrangement. A clean, spacious sitting area.
My friend said grand opening tasted a lot better. My taste for Indian food is not as developed, I thought it was good — hot and flavorful
No wait time, time to water: instant (bottled water is at table) but refill time is non-existent.
Restrooms are clean.
Ordered Guthi Venkaya pulao. Server comes back to inform that the dish is out. Why? Server goes to speak to a man seen earlier at the bar, who by now was seated with some 7-8 men at a table. Server comes back to inform Chef’s too busy. Okay, so we can wait for it as we had driven an hour to eat here. Server goes to kitchen and comes back with a not available tonight, dish is out for rest of the evening.
So here’s what really went down. The owner, dressed in hoodie, track pants and sneakers would rather use his restaurant business as a hang out place, and was seen twice grabbing Taj beer from the bar and then drinking it at a table with his buddies/business partners, instead of taking care of his customers. Owner would rather engage his Chef to cook for his buddies and tell the customers that a certain dish was out because his Chef was too busy cooking for his buddies, while he was slowly getting drunk at the table, trying to look like a cool guy, hero hiralal in front of his buddies.
Guthi Venkaya was out, REALLY? Why not just run next door to the Chinese supermarket, if the kitchen was out of eggplant??
I try to support my people but this kind of behavior makes me doubt their intentions of going into business in the first place.
If I had to eat tasteless and below average Andhra style food, broken rice pulao, Kottu roti that looked like it came out of a food processor, why would I spend my money to eat out? I can cook much better food at home, hands down!!
That said, there is definitely scope for improvement. A few dishes felt heavier than necessary due to excess oil, and some cooking techniques could be refined to enhance the flavors. Service was another area that could be better — drink orders were delayed, and it seemed like the place was short-staffed during our visit.
Overall, a good experience with potential to be even better with some improvements in food consistency and service efficiency.
My main doubt here is
1) if you know the naan is cold then why didnt you keep it in the thali in first place.
And in return he’s showing me other customers and telling me that they are eating the same thali which you ordered.
2) are you serving all the customers with naan’s which are this hard and cold. And why should i care about others food. If i dont get mine right
Beacuse last time i tried the same thali it was really really good.
So I softly told him just to bring the chicken biryani I dont want thali. He was responding me so rudely that biryani is very fresh if you want touch it.
I told him my main reason for returing the thali was because of naan not the biryani. In return he took the thali back and he said “ill be brining the same biryani to you.”
Even the biryani rice was hot but the pieces were not fresh at all. The pieces were cold.
My suggestion is : if youre reheating the food. Better reheat it in a right way
The attitude which he presented to me was very disappointing and disrespectful. Its not about me my only concern is if he shows the same attitude to other customers then this restaurant will be losing a lot of dine-in customers.
Hope you guys train the staff properly.
• Karam Prawns Vepudu: This appetizer was flavorful and enjoyable. One of the better items we tried. (4/5)
• Chicken Lollipop: Very disappointing—extremely dry, with just chat masala sprinkled on top, leaving it bland and tasteless. (2/5)
• Nawabi Chicken Dum Biryani: This was the biggest letdown. It tasted like green chili paste and masala fry mixed into rice—very spicy and unpleasant. We had to request a replacement. (1/5)
• The replacement Chicken Dum Biryani was okayish in taste, but to our shock, we found pieces of aluminum foil in the food when packing which raised hygiene concerns.
• Vijayawada Boneless Chicken Biryani: Slightly better than the dum variety, but still far from authentic or satisfying. (2.5/5)
On a positive note, the ambience was good, and the serving staff were polite and accommodating. Special thanks to the serving lady for promptly offering a replacement.
However, overall the food quality was very disappointing. We drove all the way from Frederick to try this restaurant, but it did not live up to expectations.
