Crosseyed Catfish: A Solid Southern Comfort Stop
Crosseyed Catfish delivers exactly what you’d hope for: good, honest Southern comfort food. I recently enjoyed their 2-piece catfish plate, and it certainly hit the spot.
The catfish itself was very good. The fillets were cooked just right – flaky on the inside with a satisfyingly crispy breading. You could tell it was fresh, and it wasn’t overly greasy, which is always a plus.
The accompanying sides were also noteworthy. The beans were a real standout; in fact, I could have happily eaten a whole bowl of them on their own! They had a rich, savory flavor and a comforting texture. The coleslaw provided a nice, cool contrast to the fried fish, and the hush puppies were the perfect slightly sweet and cornbready addition. Even the fries were excellent, boasting a satisfying crunch and being cooked to absolute perfection.
Based on this experience, Crosseyed Catfish seems like a reliable spot for a tasty and filling meal. If you’re craving some classic catfish and flavorful sides – especially some truly great fries – this place is definitely worth a visit. And don’t underestimate those beans!

If you have not been to the Crosseyed Catfish, you’re like me, and have been missing a hidden gem. We’ve traveled past this restaurant MANY times but never stopped…the outcome…disappointed that I have not tried this yet. The owners are definitely music lovers and it shows. From the instruments on the walls, to the concert ticket stubs displayed from iconic shows from the 70’s and 80’s. The staff was very welcoming and they were amazing with our kids…even slipped a couple of cupcakes in my dessert to go order…carrot cake and it was delicious!! The food was amazing the hush puppies melted in our mouths. Come to find out they are made fresh daily. Also, I’m picky when it comes to the taste of my fish. If it has a muddy or too much of a fishy taste I can’t eat it. The filets tasted fresh and they were fried to perfection. My daughter ate a million hush puppies and had the chicken nugget kids meal. If you’re in the area do not miss it like we have all these times, we will absolutely be back!

My husband and I went and the food was not very good. My husband ordered fish and I ordered a burger. He said his fish was okay but my burger was very bad. It was super hard and it was an imitation burger to me, it reminded me of McDonald’s which I do not like. Our server was great and a very nice girl but there was another server working that was dressed inappropriately, very tight leggings shoved all the up her behind. Made the place seem cheap and dirty. When we left our bill was 39$! Way too expensive for what we received. We won’t be going back.

This is a great little place in downtown Hardy. Are waitress did a great job. She told they had really good hush puppies and they did not disappoint but the beans were better.

They do not have a lot of gluten-free options, but I got the grilled chicken sandwich without the bun, best grilled chicken ever! Service was great, very nice place.

Fish was great. Best hushpuppies I’ve ever had in a restaurant. French fries were also better that most. I love tarter sauce, there’s was really good. 2 piece catfish dinner was plenty for me, nice size serving.
