I was in last evening and what an awesome, local restaurant discovery here in New Paltz! I stopped in to see what this new restaurant has going on and…the food is incredible and the owner is a great guy who really cares about making wholesome, healthy, food.
We spent a bit of time chatting last evening, he told me all about his focus on quality, gourmet food dishes using organic meats and vegetables. He has a small farm outside of town and raises his own meats, including chickens, ducks (eggs from both, available for sale at the restaurant, for pre-order), along with beef, goat, etc. He has been in the food business for many years and his focus is on healthy, gluten-free, organic foods really shows in the attention he gives to cooking and the resulting, amazing quality of his dishes.
I asked what is favorite dish is. He has a couple. But, without a doubt, he said he loves cooking his “Old Wise Man of the Woods”, a blend of smoked forest mushrooms (the Old Wise Man of the Woods), onions, capers and vegetables with seasoning, cooked in coconut oil. So, I told him to cook me that. Frankly, even if you are not a vegetarian, you will LOVE this one! I highly recommend you get it. He sources all of his mushrooms from a nearby New York State farm which grows high quality, organic mushrooms.

Amazing, organic,local and intentionally made food. The menu has lots of options for all meals throughout the day. The falafel and the seasonal soups are to DIE for. Definitely worth checking and coming back over-and-over again!

Absolutely delectable, with tons of vegetarian and vegan options. The owner was so friendly and warm – he told us all about his farm where he grows crops and raises livestock, so all ingredients are locally, sustainably sourced. The squash bisque and Man of the Woods mushroom platter were to die for!

Highly recommend! Quality ingredients and delicious. The squash soup was incredible, as were the gf v carrot cake pancakes. My husband got the power quinoa bowl and said he would want it every day for lunch. We even bought more food to go! The waitress was so friendly and kind, too. She made is feel really welcome.

Very good hope-in-the-wall restaurant specializing in vegetarian/vegan food. Got takeout for New Year’s with a Turkey dish though, they do serve meat. Hoping to stop by more when it gets warmer out – restaurant seems quiet during weekdays, much busier on weekends.

as someone who found out recently that they had severe celiac, this is a breath of fresh air! owner is very nice! first time my partner and i went inside he had delicious soup samples for us, perfect for the coming cold weather!

Great spot! Incredible soups, smoothies, and option to order wholesale USDA meats (short rib is bomb). Can be for vegetarians and everything is gluten free which is cool (I eat meat). Highly recommend!
