The ambience, the food, the music and the service…. Marvelous.
Cecilia (the hostess) was a dear and took a photo for us, in addition to being kind and outgoing.
It’s C-E-C-I-L-I-A!!
And she’s not in Slytherin.
Inside joke. Just go eat here.
Did I enjoy the food? Absolutely. We ordered the shrimp po boy, the link platter, and the pork belly. We finished it all while listening to live music outside at a small cocktail table which was big enough for the two of us with two platters, a drink each plus two waters. Since we’re outdoors our drinks were served in plastic cups and our meals were served on metal trays lined with paper.
All in all it was a great experience–as if all the planets aligned. The weather was perfect, the food was good, the staff was excellent, and the music was great. I’ll definitely be going back and fully intend to bring others with me.
UPDATE: Returned multiple times! Consistently great. Staff is amazing: personable and accommodating. The burgers on Wednesdays are an incredible deal! They also change their menu seasonally, along with their cocktails. They even have soft serve for the kids… and yourself. Love BABYGOLD!
Chips came to the table which was nice.
I’m really happy they had a nonalcoholic cocktail, it was super yummy.
1/1 star for amazing staff, they were so friendly. But 1/5 stars for food, I am so sorry. As a chef I would never serve this food to my guests. Maybe we came on an off day but my entire table unanimously agreed that it was average.
I would have rated this as an average place but I ordered the greens as a side and it was so overpowering with vinegar that it was inedible.
Lets start with what we liked, the thick strip of pork belly was really good 5/5 had a real nice smokey flavor, ask for the bbq sauce on the side and not on the pork belly.
The ribs we’re delish the half slab had a really nice bark / seasoning on it also meaty 5/5.
We also ordered 2 orders of Brisket was perfectly cooked not dry 5/5.
We also tried out the wings we give that 3/5 we thought the wings were underseasoned and flavors where lacking, the special sauce was mild and OKAY.
For the sides we ordered mac n cheese 3/5 it was room temp not hot.
Loaded potatoe salad 3/5 needs some more seasoning.
Corn bread was missing flavor didnt taste that great 2/5. Finally when we ordered waffle fries we received regualr fries and i
told them that i wanted waffle fries and that they could have metioned they we’re out.
Honestly,I do think that the staff is doing alot and cannot give 100 percent attention to the food consumers, staff is nice but looked rushed, making me feel rushed because of the atmosphere. Sepnt $155 dollars tip included with 2 cokes. Very pricey and you can probally get away paying for bbq elsewhere, but there will be always a different places to try out. Please tip your servers!
