I was the only customer in the whole restaurant. I ordered beef stew pho and summer rolls. I’ve eaten at many pho places around the Northeast, and usually, they always serve pho with bean sprouts and coriander. But this place didn’t serve any.
From the moment I walked in, they didn’t say “hey,” “hi,” or “hello.” When I paid, they didn’t even say “thank you” or ask if everything was okay. Please don’t hire staff like that. I will never come back again.
Service is really bad .
Their summer rolls are also a must —fresh, light, and packed with flavour. The service is always friendly and quick, making it a great spot for a casual lunch or dinner.
The restaurant is clean, cozy, and has a welcoming atmosphere. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portion sizes, which are massive. If you’re in Durham and love Vietnamese food, Vina Pho is a must-visit!
On inspection I removed all the chicken from the roll to discover it was undercooked and pink. Complained to Uber Eats as if I hadn’t realised it could have made me very unwell. They offered me a refund for the item which I think is a bit rubbish, I would have liked my whole order refunded really for the inconvenience. Whilst I believe this may be thigh meat which is generally darker in colour, you can see this is not cooked properly.
The beef pho was good but I really couldn’t eat it after nearly eating raw chicken. Really disappointed to even write this as this place is highly rated and generally the food looks great, but how this was passed off as cooked is concerning.
Dropped by Vina Pho to get my pho fix. As someone who has reviewed my fair share of pho restaurants, my honest opinion is that their beef pho was just average. The broth was cloudy which means they don’t pre boil their beef bones or skim their broth, and saltiness was a bit overpowering the other flavour dimensions. Beef was well done, not the best cuts I’ve had but they gave nearly double the amount of beef of many other restaurants. In other words, portion size gets a plus. Toppings were minimal with only green/spring onions, no onions or cilantro. The restaurant was nicely decorated and fairly modern. No sriracha sauce at the table but a surprising highlight was their chili oil – it has a good kick! Definitely try if you like spice.
