I am genuinely not sure if I somehow went to the wrong restaurant, because I cannot believe that the other reviews posted here are of the same establishment.

The food is terrible.
The chicken from the sweet and sour chicken balls is so dry I struggled to get my fork through it.
The unnamed meat in the Har Sui (meat dumplings) was slimy, wet and had a flavour profile of grey. The meat in it however, was a gruelling shade of off-pink (picture attached).
The satay skewers were presented in a bed of one lettuce leaf and smothered in a sauce which looked disgusting and was completely flavourless except for the taste of expired spices. The chicken underneath was similarly rock hard and overcooked.
The boiled rice was also overcooked, and looked and tasted like paper maché.

The restaurant smelled of damp and the sofas were stained and dirty.

The best thing about the meal was the soy sauce accompaniment, which was thankfully strong enough to mask the taste of the rest of the meal.

Worst Chinese Restaurant ever. Please stay largely away from this restaurant. We read many good reviews on the food, however the food is average. Unfortunately the service is horrific. Took the staff 45 minutes to bring out drinks to the table. We had to go over multiple times to ask for our drinks. Finally after 1.5hrs the food started arriving piece by piece. The owner is super arrogant at the end and the staff are clueless. Unfortunately our worst experience. When we then try to inform her about our experience of the service she started blaming our vegan grandmother that because of her they couldn’t cook faster. The staff kept mentioning restaurant is busy but there is only 3 tables in total. We just don’t understand…

Amazing Food, friendly owner, and student friendly price! The 辣子鸡 and 口水鸡 are recommended if you have high tolerance level of spicy.

Glad I finally got to try this resturant after always walking past it. We went in at 12 to order for takeout and I recommend calling in advance. The wait was around 30 minutes but we did order a lot. For 6 people it was £70-80 which was reasonable price for large amount.

Resturant looks like from the inside and has a good vibe. It’s 20% more than menu price if you eat in and each person has to spend a minimum £10 if you eat in.

The duck was excellent and all the dishes were large portion can not recommend more!

We sat in a warm restaurant (just what you need on a cold Friday night). The staff were friendly. The food delicious. The price was also very good. Will be returning again soon.

Very tasty food, the steam fish is particularly good. My girlfriend and I came here and it was authentic cantonese food.

This is a little Dimond hidden near my home, I walked past it for 3 years, and can’t believe I never tried it before. Food is good, the place is quiet and relaxing. Every time I have been there eat in or take away it’s always good.

Very quiet restaurant (I was told they are very busy on the takeaway side), large car park a few metres away, two young waitresses were nice, food was pretty good but not amazing, prices were good, I have paid double in similar restaurants. I would eat here again.

We went to Di Yi tonight for a meal. We wait 40 minutes for our drinks and then we waited another 10 minutes for our starter. My drink came and I asked for a gin and tonic with ice. The gin was in one glass the ice with another glass, the tonic came to the table with not even a top off of it. , Then our starter came and that was absolutely fine without a problem , then our man came and that came no problem but to be honest with you it was absolute tasteless while we were waiting for our meals. There was delivery and people ordering takeaways and picking them up and they seem to have a preference to be honest with you, I love the place, but I will never ever go back there again. It was totally unstaffed and it was just shocking. I feel sorry for the staff that were working but it’s one of those considerations that the greedy owners are making a lot of profit. I’ve underpaid staff with lack of knowledge
