A decent place for Indian eats with a very homely vibe. I loved the fact that everything felt comforting and familiar even the setup of the place adds to that feeling.
The menu is huge and impressive, starting from Osmania biscuits to dosas, idlis, thalis, biryanis, puffs, pakodas, bajjis, punugulu, and so much more honestly, something for everyone.
I tried the mirchi bajji with onion stuffing and it was absolutely delicious. The punugulu with allam chutney were hands down the best. The chicken pakodas tasted exactly like the classic chicken starters from King & Cardinal, which used to be a very famous place in Hyderabad (now sadly shut down). Hyderabadis will totally understand what I mean pure nostalgia.
The samosas were yum too. For dessert, I had the falooda ice with crunchy sabja (basil seeds) and chikoo ice cream it was a feast.
Coming from Canada, it’s really hard to find food that matches our home flavors, but this place truly won my heart. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic, homestyle Indian food.

my husband and I went to get some quality ice cream; For one was very excited as I thought it would be classical desi Flavors.. I was a little disappointed overall as when I asked to taste the flavors. The lady was very sweet, However, the scoop of tasting was ever so small couldn’t even tell that was supposed to be sample size.

Overall, my husband and I both got two scoops of ice cream he got falooda And Dubai chocolate ice cream I have gotten the falooda And mango… I was really upset to see the ice cream did have freezer burn on it, which indicated it. It’s been there for not weeks but months yes you can store ice cream in the freezer for quite a while, but not months where it starts having freezer burn there was no flavor to the ice cream. We both were very disappointed and ended up throwing our full ice cream away after 4 to 5 bites of it and going to another ice cream shop… i thought i was crazy but my throat did hurt and to my surprise so did my husbands..

If they want to improve, they need to work on their KWALITY.

If tea had a LinkedIn profile, Aahar Cafe & Kwality Ice Cream Troy’s – chai would be endorsed for excellence, consistency, and soul. This isn’t just tea—it’s a full-blown experience. Bold aroma, perfect kadak balance, zero shortcuts. Old-school method, modern execution. Respect.

Yes, they also have a location in Farmington Hills, Michigan—solid spot, no complaints. But let’s call a spade a spade: the best tea is hands down at the Troy location. Different league. Different vibe. That cup hits deeper, warmer, and somehow feels more intentional.

Bottom line:
• Tea cravings? Solved.
• Long day? Fixed.
• Standards? Raised.

Aahar in Troy understands chai the way it’s always been meant to be made. No fluff. Just results. ☕

I have visited Aahar Cafe of Farmington Hills for buffet couple of time and they have a very good spread with fresh food. Aahar Cafe at troy is relatively new and smaller with finger foods, ice creams, falooda’s and regular indian menu with limited seating.

I usually go during weekends for their Non Veg and Veg Thali’s. They provide ample amount of jeera rice along with roti, chicken starters curries, veg curries, papad and one type of sweet. Last weekend I have visited and was surprised to see that they have started buffet as well. They had a good spread a bit less than Farmington hills branch, but good enough. The price was approx 18 dollars per person. Will visit again for buffet.

After going for three times I’m writing here, tried bonda, punugulu, chicken fry, dosa, idli, vada, poori, tea. All the items tried were good.

Gone for lunch buffet on weekday, most of the items were good. I’m biryani lover, so when i tried butter chicken for nan, i see chicken is coloured. It is quite common in most of the restaurants they color for eye catching.

This is one of the safe place to try in troy for taste repeatedly

Disappointed with their Ice Creams, they don’t taste good and not many flavors.

Stuffed mirchi and Cut Mirchi are awesome, loved them.

Recently tried their punugulu, taste is ok but very oily, ginger chutney is really good.

Aahar Cafe and Kwality Ice Cream is a hidden gem offering more than just delightful desserts—it’s a culinary journey into the heart of Indian cuisine. The food is exceptional, and the staff are equally impressive, making the experience truly memorable. The presentation of the Paani Puri transported me straight to the vibrant streets of Hyderabad, capturing the authentic flavors and ambiance perfectly. This place is a must-visit for both locals and tourists looking for an extraordinary dining experience in the area. Highly recommended!

Today is their first day so giving positive feedback as their food is good.
Owner welcomed with a warm smile and they have variety of evening snack items. We tasted samosa and cut mirchi and both were nice we tried ice creams which was also good. Peanut chatni was good but garlic chatni was sweet instead of sour on taste.
Few things noticed are menu is not available and overcrowded due to opening day. Small is dinning area.

Aahar Kwality in Troy stands out for its excellent South Indian street food, with a wide range of delectable options. The customer service is decent, though I observed that the price for mango lassi is on the higher side compared to competitors. On the bright side, the restaurant boasts an impressive collection of South Indian sweets, making it a delightful destination for those with a sweet tooth. Overall, a flavorful experience with room for improvement in pricing.
