The food was a solid 7.5/10. The omurice was not the traditional omelet on top of rice it was a rice filled omelet, still tasty, it just loses the texture. The Tteokbokki was perfect and the best level of spice when you don’t want to test your spice limits. I will say the Banchan was not my favorite but the cucumbers were SO good. I would eat here again! The atmosphere was so fun it’s worth a try!

First time here and I loved it so much. The seatings are with benches and a little tight but still decently roomy. There’s a lot of writing on the wall as you can write on it. The bathroom doesn’t flush as I held it down for 20secs and more like followed on the instruction in the bathroom. The food here is sooo flavorful and aromatic. I literally fell in love with my food. The rice was like Thai purple sticky rice just not sticky and I love that even more. My food was just not as tender as I’d like it to be but still good. I love the broth it came in and everything. My boyfriend had the tofu rice plate and that was pretty mid as I felt like they could’ve stir fry the tofu into the meat. Plus you can make this at home which didn’t feel very restaurant-y. The water was ice cold and they give it to you in a jug. Also offer barley tea but I did not drink it. Service was well, just like any other server.

Korean restaurant open until midnight being one of the biggest pros.

Seafood Pancake ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: really crispy with a good amount of chew. I was kind of surprised at how good it was. Would come here again for the seafood pancake alone.

Fish Cake Soup ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: pretty standard if you like this fish. Nothing special but also not bad.

Tofu Soup ⭐️⭐️⭐️: came in piping hot but the flavor was nothing special and pretty average.

I was so happy to visit Sa Rang Bang after moving away for 11 years and the food and atmosphere is still amazing.

Enjoyed the Hot Pot for two, banchan, specialty rice. Don’t forget to bring your colored Sharpie permanent markers! You are allowed to write on the walls. I felt like I was dining at one of those hidden gem alley ways in Myeongdong or Hongdae. The staff are all Korean, so you will get an authentic meal. This is great for those late night cravings.

Absolutely the best Korean restaurant in Sacramento! This place is no nonsense and has very authentic Korean food. I live in LA and if I when come to Sacramento, I always make time to come here. Always great food and I always leave happy. The wait may be long, but they serve everything made to order and it’s DELICIOUS!

I thoroughly enjoyed the food here for my first visit. I was skeptical about visiting due to some of the negative reviews but I’m glad I paid them no mind since I ended up having such a pleasant dining experience. I dined in on a Monday night in a party of 3 and was seated immediately when we walked through the door (we were allowed to choose our seats). The booths seemed a bit small but cozy and you’re allowed to write on the walls at the restaurant which gives the place a very chill vibe.
The server was prompt with bringing water (I believe it has barley in it so the coloring is light brown — don’t worry, it’s not dirty water). My 9 year old son didn’t like the taste of the water but my friend and I enjoyed it; to me, it tastes like refreshing cold tea or a water chestnut drink.
We were give (4) free side dishes: kimchi, [pickled?] sliced cucumbers, sweet macaroni, and broccoli. (I don’t know the official terms for these side items but they looked and tasted good and paired well with our main orders).
It’s about $10-$20 per food menu item on average, but I spent about $20-$30 since I ordered the soft tofu spicy soup (with pork but you can also choose seafood or beef) as well as the omurice. The soup was super tasty with the right amount of spice, with the pork being tender. I thought the omurice would taste basic but I really enjoyed the way they cooked the rice and surpassed my expectations. The portions were bigger than expected so my son and I shared the soup and omurice.
The server was attentive with our requests and would bring our utensils/straws, extra bowls, and more water in a timely manner.
My friend ordered the tteokbokki and it was so cheesy and delicious. She also got bibimbap that looked pretty good too.
We had a nice time dining here; definitely going to return!

Authentic, quaint Korean spot where visitors leave their names on the walls of the booth. So bring a sharpie!
Great food, beer and rice alcohol, super staff! Will definitely go back.

So so, the taste is not the same as in other Korean places, food is not salty at all, just spicy.
I don’t think I will come back, sorry.
BTW: it would be nice if the waiter smiles.

The soft tofu soup with seafood was great. With the first bite, I could clearly taste the seafood. The pajeon was great too: crispy and filling. Some side dishes are off (for example the broccoli with white sauce) but others were great. Nice atmosphere, too.
