Love the Maharani. First went there nearly 20 years ago as a student, and still returning with the family. Owner is a great bloke, very relaxed atmosphere. My favourite restaurant in Swansea

Dhal is a brilliant man allways find him in the kitchen busy with pre orders everything is cooked to order nothing is pre made just how it should be .being a deliveroo driver and a customer he’s food is better than most in swansea and its not tasteless .good portion sizes very reasonable prices . Hell talk all night long as he likes to keep his customers happy .will bend over backwards you .only thing he asks it if it’s a large party pre book with your order as he is semi retired now but refuses to close he should be very proud 60 years in the same spot hard to find a decent curry in swansea that dosent give you a bad belly but burns your tongue as its piping hot have a glass of water to hand

Dhal is the friendliest and loveliest man and caters for everyone. I have been 6 times now and the curry is spot on every single time. Very affordable too!

Fantastic service! Loved the food, the staff took care of us. There was a lot of selection and the staff helped us to select the food to our particular preference. Would definitely come back again and would recommend to come again.

Awful. Food wasn’t nice but still expensive and the worst part is that the chicken was raw. I had already eaten some before I realised and now I’m doomed to a week of food poisoning and all the joys that come with it. These lot cannot cook meat properly. Avoid avoid avoid. I should have stuck with Panshee.

My friends and I eat at the Maharani on a regular basis. Dula is a fantastic host and can’t do enough for us. He knows our regular orders but is happy to recommend other dishes for a bit of variety. The food is always fresh and tasty. His chef will adapt dishes according to taste, e.g. I prefer flavours of some dishes which aren’t particularly spicy but he will spice them up for me. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve eaten here and will continue to do so. The prices are very reasonable, the ambience is really great and the friendliness of Dula tops it all off.

Walking home tonight, I decided to treat myself to a takeaway and noticed that the prices in Maharani were competitive compared to other nearby places. I ordered the prawn dhansak and sabzi masala together with naan. The portions were generous and I have some left over for tomorrow. Each dish had a lovely, fresh flavour, and there was a satisfying difference between the two. I enjoyed the variety of vegetables in the sabzi, and the dhansak was one of the tastiest I’ve ever had.
The time spent waiting passed rapidly due to the pleasant chat I had with the owner (?), hence my ratings for service and atmosphere. I look forward to visiting again.

Came in for a last minute curry night with friends. The server was very friendly and helpful, made sure both vegan and gluten free dietary requirements were catered for. The food was amazing and the price was great. Would definitely recommend!

This restaurant has really gone downhill over the years. The hygiene is lacking, which is a shame because the host was very hospitable. Once seated, we were handed menus which were dirty and sticky. Ordered the drinks, they came in glasses which were marked and sticky down the side. The drink was room temperature flat pop. The food that came didn’t taste bad, but it certainly wasn’t “good”. Very small portion of rice which the curry drowned if you were to pour it all on your plate. Bread was burnt and tasteless.

Went to the men’s bathroom by mistake, my god it was stinking. Stunk of urine and it was dirty! I was disgusted by the soap on the sink, how they thought it was ok to leave this filthy black god knows how old bar of soap there for customers. Whole place needs a good bleaching! They’re meant to be rated 4 by the food standards agency but it needs updating!
