Stumbled upon this really cool ‘lil spot while in the area for Strangebird and highly recommend!

My husband enjoyed our server’s curated whiskey flight and I much appreciated the inclusive beverage options [mocktails and infused bevs, too!] The grazing board was the perfect accompaniment… We’ll definitely be back!

Great neighborhood Irish pub. You get the feeling that you are in the TV show Cheers. It’s a small place and be prepared to rub elbows with your neighbors and new friends. Not a lot of food options. Just snacks. But you come here for the fine cocktails and wide selection of Irish whiskeys. The staff is topnotch and very knowledgeable about the whiskey selections. They have Guinnes and a few other beers on tap..
If you happen to be there on first Friday you can have a loved photo printed on the foam of your beer..

Everyone we spoke to was so welcoming and fun. Cute place, amazing selection of Irish whiskeys. Handmade menu covers, hand built woodworking and other artwork show how much care the owners have put into the place.

The Snug is one of those rare neighborhood bars that immediately feels like home. From the moment you walk in, there’s a genuine community vibe — a perfect fit for Irvington.

It’s locally owned, and you can absolutely tell. The staff is consistently friendly, attentive, and happy to chat or make recommendations without ever feeling pushy. Whether you’re a regular or stopping in for the first time, you’re treated like you belong there and I love that fact.

The drink selection is fantastic, especially if you love Irish whiskey and well-chosen beers. They’ve clearly put thought into their lineup, and the bar snacks add a fun, interesting touch that pairs perfectly with a pint. If you’re looking for a relaxed, authentic spot with great drinks and even better people, Snug is hard to beat.

Check them out some time and definitely don’t miss their St. Patrick’s Day event!

The SNUG is quite possibly the best Irish Whiskey pub/bar in America.

Located in the historic Irvington neighborhood of Indianapolis the community that has been fostered at the SNUG in its short tenure is nothing short of amazing.

While Jim Arnoldt is the face of the SNUG online there is an A-List team that runs the business, and works there.

The SUNG is a small space – max capacity 49 according to the Fire Marshall – but it has the largest Irish Whiskey selection in Indianapolis, the state of Indiana, the Midwest, and quite possibly the country.

There are regular Whiskey Club events where Distillers, Blenders, and Ambassadors will guide you through great whiskeys in a fun and engaging environment.

The pint (of Guinness) is pretty darn good. On my scale it’s a 4.25 (out of 5) with the head having a decent grip to the glass as it’s happily consumed.

Food wise your choice is either Tayto’s (9 flavors available) or a snack plate.

If you’re looking for a slice of Irish hospitality in Indianapolis then this is the place for you.

Cannot wait to go back! Seriously incredible spot to get a pint and talk about your life with a stranger. I love it. Small room with a great feel, the bar or a table you’ll have fantastic service.

Food is 5/5 but it’s not a sit and eat kinda place, this is a superb Irish bar that also has superb Irish bar food.

If you’re new to Indy, you have to try this spot!

My first visit to SNUG was awesome. It reminded me of my last trip to Dublin. Super friendly service, great tasting treats and really well Christ beverages. I can’t wait to go back again! Heart of its charm is that it is super small and cozy. Keep that in mind if you go on the weekends or with a large group.

I forgot to add some words about my review. This is a fantastic little spot. Never been to Ireland, but this has to be close to what it feels like. There’s also a TV that shows a live feed from Dublin. Excellent Irish whiskey selection. We’re from Wisconsin, our friends live in Indy. Will be back to this spot around the Indy 500.

This is such a unique pub for Indy. It’s an intimate space, sometimes it’s full to the brim and other times it’s more casual and relaxed. We enjoyed sharing a table with another couple one night – at first we didn’t share much in common, but we spent the night talking about our favorite trips domestically and overseas and Indy’s fun neighborhoods. I think that’s the value of SNUG. In a world of curating everything – you are invited to have a good conversation with a stranger, enjoy a wonderful mixed drink or a Half and Half, and enjoy the company or a friend or stranger alike.

The ambiance is great-soft lighting, beautiful woodwork and bar, friendly owners who are 100% all-in … friendly and passionate about space making. They love to tell you about how they modeled the space-including the “snug” for which the bar is named after. They are masters at a good Irish whisky cocktail, but they invite you in with a slimmer menu on their site. So if you want to get creative, just ask. They have tons of ideas.

Whether you come for a night cap or stay for a while, you won’t be disappointed. Come on a slow night for an intimate conversation space, or at a busy period ready with an open mind and you’ll likely meet someone different than you and enjoy a fresh point of view in a beautiful space. It’s the perfect neighborhood pub you didn’t know you needed in your life.
