My wife and I travelled from Elmont, Long Island to try this Filipino restaurant, Island Central. It only took us 1 hour to get here. The welcoming and hospitality were much appreciated. Our server Shane and the owner were very attentive to us. The service and the food was A-1 perfect . We ordered the food platter, fruit milkshakes and their superb Halo-Halo for dessert . We met very pleasant patrons and the vibe of this restaurant is splendid. The decor took us back to being in the Philippines . It’s beautifully decorated and has a great ambience. We highly recommend this place. We’ve added pictures so you can see for yourself. Thank you Island Central for our great experience in your restaurant. We’ll be back soon.

We celebrated my niece’s birthday with family, and it was a great experience. The food was delicious and the presentation was beautiful. Everything was served on banana leaves, and the rice was creatively arranged with her name. We enjoyed eating with our hands the Filipino way, which made the meal more fun and special. Overall, it was a wonderful celebration with great food and family.

I had a great experience with my partner’s family birthday dinner. Traditional atmosphere of Filipino cuisine and hospitality. The food was better than I expected and I definitely would comeback with more friends and family. Live music was great, but too loud for a small venue. I perfer a small intimate setting where we can have a conversation.

We came for the Kamayan experience and we were so surprised with how fresh, delicious, and plentiful it was. The quality of the food stood out that you could tell it was cooked to be delicious and not to just get you full and make profit. The staff were personable and attentive. Aly and April took great care of us during our dinner. We will be coming back again 100%. I hope to see this restaurant succeed and eventually open more locations.

Came here with my wife, sister, and son looking for authentic Filipino food and true Filipino vibes—and we got both in abundance. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Our server, April, was friendly, attentive, and handled multiple tables with ease. We were also warmly greeted by the owner, Sheryll, after she overheard this was my sister’s third time in the U.S. and her first time in the area.
What really stood out was witnessing Sheryll kindly invite a couple—who weren’t even customers and were waiting for an Uber in the cold with their baby—to come inside and stay warm. That genuine act of hospitality says everything. Amazing food and vibes are one thing, but the true Filipino spirit is what puts this place at the top of my list.
Every time I’m in the area, I’ll be back—and bringing a crew with me. Highly recommend.

Thanks to the responsiveness and hospitality of the team here, we were able to enjoy a kamayan feast for a birthday celebration. They were very accommodating since we called only a week ahead of time.
The food was ready by the time we stepped into the restaurant and was presented beautifully. The day before was Halloween so there were some spooky decorations up (very cute). Service was exceptional. They checked in regularly and helped us clear the feast away so we could serve cake right when we asked.

Had the most amazing and fun time dining here!! Not only did they have amazing authentic traditional filipino food that I have been craving so much, but they had an open mic and the owners and workers were so welcoming i had such an amazing time engaging with everyone while dining too!!

I’m writing this review as a customer who ordered via Grubhub. I originally ordered ginataang kalabasa from their grubhub menu but it wasn’t available. So I had it replaced, I ordered pinakbet with bagnet. It was a big disappointment because what they sent isn’t bagnet but pieces of pork fat, pork skin isn’t crunchy at all. The supposed to be bagnet all went to garbage. Though I would give them the credit of accommodating to replace the original order but it’s a false advertising when you say pinakbet with bagnet and it doesn’t come with real bagnet. I’ll post the photo I’ve taken so you would see what I mean. Maybe for the pork fat lovers it’s a hit. But for someone who’s not, it’s a dissatisfaction. At least they should have considered sending half with meat at least. Look at the photo, it is all pork fat, I couldn’t eat any of it.

We were very satisfied with all the food we ordered. The chicharon bulaklak was our favorite – coming from the Visayas/Mindanao region, it was perfectly seasoned and truly catered to our palate. It brought me right back home! The ambiance was clean and pleasant, and the service was excellent as well.
