Deplorable Rob
It was a Monday night and our 1st night out on our 3rd time visiting Door County after dinner looking for a dessert place for the kids.
Seems Monday isn’t such a good night out here being many eateries are closed or close early. Saw the ever popular DQ sign and asked with a smile “how bout Dairy Queen?” and my wife instantly said no.
Understandably we have DQs all over the country and a few in the county we live in which is the northeastern most county of IL. I know she wanted to try something local or a popular regional chain to begin with but we ended up here after she asked the boys if they wanted it.
Haven’t had DQ in at least 4 maybe 5 years and MAN did that strawberry sundae hit the spot. Brought back memories growing up and DQ never fails to satisfy that craving even though technically their soft serve doesn’t categorize as ice cream.
My youngest who’s 3 1/2 years old absolutely loved his strawberry sundae as well, this was his 1st time having DQ. Not sure if these guys get much tourist business but it was a nice feeling of nostalgia having DQ again.

Usually, I’m very satisfied with my DQ orders, but this time my Blizzard didn’t taste right. The ice cream had a lemon or citrus-like flavor, even though I didn’t order anything with citrus. Because of that, I wasn’t able to enjoy it.

Just went through the drive-thru for some ice cream sundaes and had a pretty crabby assistant at the drive-thru window. I just thought maybe she was having a bad day. She didn’t seem to understand what I wanted exactly when I told her I wanted a chocolate sundae with pecans and whipped cream. She thought I meant chocolate ice cream for the sunday. But I told her I wanted vanilla ice cream. And she kind of rolled her eyes at me. I waited for about 3 to 4 minutes just for two sundays. And it was rather expensive. I don’t think I’ll be going there in the future.

Fast service for good prices! The gazebo is back out back as well! The blizzards are great, as always. Mediums are more than enough for grown adults, so keep that in mind. We ordered choco brownie and Oreo flavored and everyone was definitely happy with the ice cream.

Blizzards were terrible and skimped on ingredients and weren’t even mixed. Service was terrible, I was talked over by the person at the drive through when I was trying to order, and they got my order wrong. Looks like there’s new owners, I’ll never be going back, what a shame…

Ever since the new owners started I’ve noticed a significant difference and not a good one. They have given me multiple times not the ice cream I ordered, forgot items until we said something about it and the ice cream doesn’t taste the same. Plus just the other day I got ice cream that wasn’t what I ordered and it was so overfilled, it was dripping so much I had to go home and put it in a separate bowl.

I don’t think the new owners are using authentic Dairy Queen “ice cream”. Definitely not like it used to be. My shake was chunky and tasteless, not smooth and creamy. It was almost watery before I finished it. The grandkids had cones that had the same consistency as the shake.
Also, my shake had graham cracker chunks in it and the owner did see any problem with that.

The ice cream was so cold and frozen that my spoon couldn’t get through it and it severely hurt my teeth. The service was HORRIBLE, I waited 10 minutes for the person to notice someone was at the ordering machine and the food took forever to be made. This place has a decent atmosphere, it has benches, outdoor tables, and a gazebo to eat in as well. Although, the place is right of a really busy road so it is very noisy. ALTHOUGH THE FOOD IS NOT EXPENSIVE.

I’m not trying to be rude, but the lady at the drive through window could barely speak English. This was very hard to understand over the speaker. Also very hard for her to understand what we were asking for. Our order was wrong when we got to the window and the ice cream was so melted they couldn’t even do the cup flip on the blizzard, they had to put a lid on it so it wouldn’t run all over.
