Don’t waste your money
We had a reservation for the iftar buffet for 8 adults ,travelled from New York to try this spot.
they served us in boxes and portioned our food so badly in a small little box that none of us could eat the dinner , two spoons of rice khichuri and tehari and when we asked for more they said they were out
Service was terrible
The woman working was rude.
Horrible experience
Not recommended at all
Unfortunately, this was one of the most unusual buffet experiences I’ve ever had.
The food was not self-serve. Instead, the staff served fixed portions, and customers were not given the option to choose what or how much they wanted. I understand that food waste can be a concern, but when you advertise something as a buffet—especially at $23 per person—customers expect flexibility and choice.
Since the restaurant was not busy, I believe there should have been more focus on customer service. After the initial serving of food and juice, I had to repeatedly ask for additional items like one more peaju or beguni. During Iftar, no one wants to wait for food to arrive slowly or have to keep requesting basic items. It should be the staff’s responsibility to check in and ask if guests need anything more.
A buffet should allow customers to eat what they prefer and in the quantity they prefer. Being told what to eat and having to ask multiple times for small additions does not reflect the buffet concept.
I am not giving the lowest rating, but unfortunately, I will not return for the buffet experience again. I would suggest observing how other restaurants like Gharer Khabar or Shahi Kabab manage and serve their Iftar service.
I truly hope the business improves its approach to customer service and buffet management in the future.
We ordered lot of food. Food was delicious. Borhani amount was too little.
Only thing I didn’t like about the restaurant was that the owner was too friendly. He got no reason to came to our table and started asking personal questions. It was bothering us.
I know he want to make sure we are happy with the food. But the way he was talking to us again and again made us uncomfortable and he asked for tips which is not professional.
Food Quality: Some of the dishes are Great almost authentic.
Some dishes have too much oil and spices.
Portion Size: I would say portion size is much smaller compared to other South Asian restaurants, but the prices are the same.
Menu: Since it’s a new restaurant, I believe they don’t have all the dishes available that show on their online menu. For example, they have Pani Puri/Fuchka picture on their outside window, but they don’t sell it yet.
Hopefully, the options on the menu will grow more.
Service: Online order and phone order are not available, only in person. But, they are helpful, polite, and quick.
Overall, I have mixed experience. I’m hoping it will be better and more successful.
