My experience here was average. Nothing in particular would cause me to return. The drink i had felt overpriced for it’s size. The pizza was good, wasn’t awful, wasn’t anything amazing. Service felt kinda slow, we entered and it wasn’t too busy. Nobody had any sort of uniform on so it was difficult to distinguish who actually worked there. The manager on floor was nice and attentive. There’s an arcade for those interested or with kids. The bathrooms were clean.

Perfect atmosphere for a classic pizza spot. Looks like it could be from any decade. Amazing waitress who made sure we had everything we needed. My son loved the cheese pull and I thought the sauce was unique and delicious. The crust was also great with a nice crisp. Can’t believe I grew up around here and just now trying it. It’ll be my new spot for sure.

This will always be my favorite pizza! Been going all my life. I recently went through Birmingham and wanted to grab a pizza to go. Mt Brook was closed (closed until 4 on Sunday) so I tried Vestavia for the first time. I have trouble walking now and was unable to climb stairs with my pizza so they brought it up to me. So nice and pizza was amazing as always! I’ve been all over the states working and tried pizza everywhere but nothing beats Davenports!

Have visited the Homewood location a few times and wanted a half baked pie to take home with me so we went here. Here’s my take on Davenport’s: it’s delicious, and simple. It’s not trying to be anything. They have a nice thin crust, a good savory sauce, a lot of cheese, and premium meats. I don’t need anything else honestly. It’s very consistent and the crust is amazing. If you want some good old fashioned local pizza this place hits the spot. I prefer the vibe of the homewood location but I think the pizza is the same quality at both. Enjoy.

Atmosphere is the best asset here. Service was average and pizzas were 7.1 out of 10. Still way better than your regular pizza delivery places. They have a nice outdoor area, expansive dining area and some video games. Some are old school. They do a large to go business here.
We had the Rex Special and the Meat pizzas. Good ration of cheese, sauce and toppings. Crust medium crispy. We will visit again.

We went this past weekend and the service was awful. Our server came to our table maybe twice – to bring our food and bring our drinks. Never checked on us, never asked for refills on our drinks. We wanted to order more but since she never came back around we decided to leave. Everyone saw us sitting there and we were completely ignored. We had to ask multiple people for a box and never received our ticket. We went to pay and told the boy that we didn’t have our ticket and he just walked away laughing with no help. We will not return.

Food was amazing! Crispy crust, fresh ingredients and great taste.
Only thing I did not agree with was the extra charge for your splash of drink when you order a cocktail. Almost the same charge as a full size soft drink.
However I would eat there again just would stick to a soft drink or water.

What is going on everyone I have yet another review here for you. I have to space these things out okay. Anyways this past Saturday me and my cousin ventured out over to Vestavia Hills, AL to try out Davenport’s Pizza Palace second location to try it for consistency. I say that because they have a Mountain Brook, AL location and I’ve been there before but never reviewed it.
This location is in a great spot scenery is great and an awesome place to hang out. Both locations have an arcade area with really cool games as well. This place was extremely busy but the staff was so kind and they were doing a great job. Also to add to that for my drinkers they have a bar and a drink menu too!
Now for the pizza we ordered the meat lovers and as always very good. Crispy crust and you can tell they use fresh cheese and fresh ingredients in general. I’m going to pull a Dave Portnoy and give this pizza an 8.2 out of 10.
There is a reason this place always makes it on the list as one of the best places to get pizza in all of Alabama and it is indeed one of my favorite places to go. Go check them out at either location and enjoy their great food just like I did.
