Excellent food, excellent service! This was our first time eating Georgian food, and Old Tbilisi took great care of us. Our waitress, Lika, was welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. We asked a lot of questions, and she gave me a perfect recommendation for my entree: the Shkmeruli, tender chicken in a delicious garlic sauce. The garlic flavor was strong, which is just what I was looking for. My wife got the Coho Salmon in walnut sauce which was cooked perfectly and tasted great. Really, we ordered way too much food because we didn’t know what we’d like. Turns out, we loved everything. The Acharuli Khachapuri is a delicious bread baked with lots of cheese and topped with an egg. The bean stew came out piping hot and had tangy pickled cabbage on the side.

We definitely need to go back here to try more, but it’ll be a challenge not to order the same dishes because of how great everything was!

My first time here, and it was amazing! My girlfriend and I showed up tonight, Valentine’s Day, and we didn’t have a reservation. Luckily, they were able to squeeze us in. The staff is very friendly, and asked if we had any questions about any item on the menu. Also, once the food was served, they took the time to ask if we needed advice on how the items were traditionally eaten. Such a wonderful vibe. We ordered too much, but every dish was delicious, and now I have a wonderful lunch tomorrow. 10 out of 10, and I’ll definitely be coming back.

Yum!!! The food is great, we are cheese lovers so the cheesy bread boat is def something we love to order ($18) as a treat. I’m a big fan of soup dumplings and this is my favorite thing to order here. They’re pretty good sized and very delecious. The waitress is always very kind and informative when we go. She asks if you want to know how things are eaten traditionally and explains it very well. Highly recommend this spot as a date night or family/friend lunch/dinner. Ample space, nice atmosphere.

I’m Eastern European and have eaten my fair share of Georgian food. Didn’t expect much after reading some of the other reviews, but was pleasantly surprised that everything we ordered was delicious. Every bite was solid and service was quick and friendly. The khachipuri was great, of course, but hard to go wrong with fresh cheesy bread. The hinkali (dumplings) were a bit on the dry side, but barely (and I’m picky with my hinkali). The pork shish kabaab and chicken were both impressive, and so were the potatoes. Dessert and tea were both great. All in all, very good.

Two minor suggestions for the restaurant:
– Get your liquor license please 🙂 it’d be great to have a Georgian wine with the meal.
– I would recommend dimming the ceiling lights a bit and getting some softer lights / candles, just to make the mood a bit more romantic.

Will be back.

Lika was our hostess and server, this evening. She was a delight! Prompt, friendly service, and happy to answer our questions.
The food was truly delicious, I wish I had room to eat more! We will just have to come back and experience more of their delectable Georgian fare.

I encourage all who read this, go in for yourself, and enjoy a glass of their Zandukeli pear lemonade. Pair that with a piping hot platter of khachapuri to start!

I can guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Went for a late lunch (1:30 pm) with friends and we were the only ones in there. I had the Shkmeruli (chicken in garlic sauce) and imeruli khachapuri (cheese bread). Chicken was a garlic lovers dream and bread was nice and cheesy. Husband had the chicken tabaka and he loved the spice flavor. All dishes are large and can be shared or save leftovers for home.
Next time we’ll get a dish to share and then we can have dessert!

So happy for a Georgian restaurant this close to Portland! Everything we had was excellent, but perhaps the standout was the Shkmeruli (roasted chicken with garlic sauce). Classic must haves are Badrijani and Pkhali (eggplant rolls and beet/spinach walnut dips), Acharuli Khachapuri (cheese boat), Beef Khinkali (beef soup dumplings), and sides of adjika (spicy pepper sauce).

They do not sell alcohol, so highly recommend a Georgian soda. I’m excited to try more, happy y’all opened!

We chose to visit this restaurant because we are very familiar with Georgian cuisine .I was truly excited when I saw the restaurant’s name, as it brought back warm memories and high expectations.
Unfortunately, our experience did not fully meet those expectations. The khachapuri was quite salty for our taste, which made it a bit difficult to enjoy. It seemed that the cheese may not have been soaked long enough before preparing the filling. The kebab and khinkali were also on the salty side.
We also found that the eggplant appetizer could have benefited from being drained more thoroughly before cooking, as the texture and flavor were slightly affected.
We truly appreciate the effort that goes into preparing traditional dishes, and we hope our feedback can be helpful. We would love to see the flavors balanced more carefully in the future.

Wonderful restaurant! It was so fun checking out authentic Georgian food with my parents who were visiting. We especially enjoyed the chicken dishes and the FRIED CHEESE which I will be thinking about every day for a loooong time.

Never tried Georgian food before. It was quite tasty. Worth checking out. Food was hot and fresh. Waitstaff is polite.
Note: English is not their 1st language, so be patient and understanding. For example the waitress asked me if I wanted my H20 with ice or not. I said without ice, she brought it with ice. I suspect she didn’t catch “without” correctly. No big deal . Try it out.
