One of our favorite dessert places on the island! Seriously delicious and mysteriously vegan—how you can get dairy free ice cream to taste better than its namesake is beyond me but they do it. The sauces,
garnishes and brownies are just as phenomenal as the soft-serves. Our favorites were the chia pudding sundae and the Kilauea chocolate sundae but I think they have discontinued them (hint hint! Bring them back!) We also love the Ube sundae. Great place and friendly owners!

Incredible restaurant with incredible ice cream and food. It was so good that we didn’t even realize it was vegan.
The soft serve is smoother and creamier than most regular ice creams I’ve had. Mac and cheese was also delicious, especially with some hot sauce on top.

I was skeptical about macadamia nut based soft serve but this was sooooooo good!!! The vanilla dragon fruit swirl (I think that’s what it was) was so tasty and a perfect soft serve consistency. Hit the spot on a hot day!

My husband and I shared a bowl and a strawberry milkshake. Unfortunately, I can’t remember what the bowl was called, but it had dragon fruit ice cream and a bunch of fruit.
This is the creamiest ice cream I’ve ever had. I would eat this every day over any dairy based soft serve ice had. The macadamia nut base adds a nice flavor to it too.
I wouldn’t get a milkshake again. It tasted like a great vanilla milkshake, but there was no strawberry flavor.
The bowl was mind-blowingly good. I wish I lived in Hawaii just so I could come here more often.

We were in Kona for four days she we had this ice cream 6 times !! That’s how good it was ! Probably the best ice cream we have ever had hands down ! Just tasted so fresh and delicious and it’s made of cashew and Mac nut ! The place is really special and the staff is super friendly ! A true gem in Kona !

This place hands down is incredible. Highly recommend. I tried the sunday and a milkshake and it was killer. Never tasted anything like it. I wish I would have discovered this place sooner. If you go here you will not regret. The journey finding this place wasn’t easy for us twice, but we didn’t give up. Inside this store it is wheelchair accessible. The restroom is also wheelchair accessible.

What a relaxed and welcoming place this is to enjoy a sweet treat! I love everything they’ve done with this place, including the welcoming and affirming messages. The whimsical menus and even a plant named Larry. Best of all are the shakes made with plant-based milk. I have the ube blueberry and they put whipped coconut on top and I’ve got to say that was absolutely wonderful! Really makes me wish I could live on this island just to come visit again and again.

This is cute little dessert shop attached to a neat little vegan restaurant. The desserts are dairy free but you wouldn’t be able to tell by the taste! The ice cream that I got was quite delicious. I got the pink dragon. The way they name their flavors and options is supposed to be cute and catchy and it is but I would have liked for their board to have an astric on it to explain what the actual ingredient is. I don’t like sprinkles and would’ve ordered my ice cream without it if I’d known. I still don’t even know if the sprinkles were the pixie dust or the gems. I get I probably could’ve asked more questions but Idk it didn’t occur to me then.

Been coming here for years, every time I have to fly out of Kona airport throughout the years, I arrive early to Kona side to have a pleasant dining experience here and/or grab some vegan soft serve.
Super cozy ambiance, from the soft hippy hop music to the light-colored furnishing, string lights, feels chic and very SoCal.
Feels way cleaner than the grungy ambiance of Booch Bar or Sweet Cane Cafe, both on Hilo side.
Journey Cafe is also transparent about their ingredients list and can show it to you in case of allergy concerns!
