We were in town from IL and hungry for pizza, so we gave them a try. Bytheway, recommended by Hotel clerk.
Simple straight forward menu… pizza! Good prices, friendly service.
We had the Great Meat Combo, added mushrooms. Crust was nice and thin, and crunchy. Delicious!

I’ve been enjoying Pizza King since 1983. It is my favorite pizza hands down. Thin crispy crust. Delicious sauce.

I got Shannon’s Favorite and it was delicious and was ready quickly. I can’t comment on the atmosphere as I ordered near closing. Make sure to have either cash or checks as those are the only form of payment accepted (which is stated on the entrance).

We had the thin crust veggie combo pizza and it was really good! Not like some chain shop pizza, it was one of the best in Brookings

Pizza King is a good pizza joint. They have a variety of selections on their menu and daily specials at a reasonable price. I got a Large Pepperoni and was able to eat the whole thing by myself. I did get some flavors from other ingredients but I didn’t mind

Grew up with NY style pizza. This is awesome pizza and the staff was friendly and fun. Ordered several pizza’s. The flavors were consistent and delicious. My only complaint there were no leftovers for the next day. ( I should have hidden one).
Our family will definitely be back when we are in Brookings.

Pizza King is a staple when we travel to Brookings. It’s been around forever and the pizza luckily hasn’t changed. When all of our family is together we get 2 large cheese, 1 pepperoni and 1 sausage and mushroom. It’s a thin crust pizza cut into squares. Yes, it’s greasy but that’s what makes it so good. We carry it out and it’s not very expensive. They still take checks! No cards though. It’s bare bones inside, still seems to be original from what I remember as a kid.

The pizza can be pretty good- thin crust, lots of cheese not too much sauce. Because so many people are so high on it, I wanted to love it and give it a 5, but I’ve had it twice and it’s been inconsistent. The vibe inside was awkward both times, and it’s not the most user friendly place to order a pizza. No to-go drinks, no cards excepted, and the conversation both inside and over the phone is very blunt. I know when you are busy time is money, and not everyone is cheerful, and credit card processing fees drive up prices, but it almost seems like the reputation is what you pay for. I will give them another chance to convince me this is a 5 star place, but ultimately it’s decent pizza at an ok price point.
