SEP 29, 2025, I went to this restaurant after touring the Houmas House and Museum (I enjoyed both places).
The Dixie Cafe closed at 2p, so I found this restaurant. The signage on the property is not the best, the entrance of this restaurant has no sign also, just two doors with bird door handles.
The food was great. I had a Hurricane cocktail, ordered the pumpkin, crawfish, corn chowder, at waitress’s suggestion. I ordered the Fried Eggplant and lump crab dish. The breads and two butter serving were all very tasty.
I had the banana cheesecake for dessert. Did not get a pic of that, phone battery died.
I highly recommend this place!

This was our first time visiting Houmas House in the evening. It’s wonderful to see it at night. The food is always excellent. We had a large table of 14 people. Connor the server, did a very decent job.

What an amazing experience to dine at a historical landmark.
Located at Houmas House plantation, it’s like having lunch at a museum. Service is great. The menu is limited, but the food is decent. There was only another couple beside us when we were there, the service was excellent.

WOW! We stumbled upon this restaurant while traveling through from TX to New Orleans. I was very surprised that this restaurant is within a historical site with a museum and a gorgeous gift shop. The walk to the restaurant is breathtaking with ponds, fountains, and a 600 year old oak tree that is gorgeous! The service was outstanding, and so was the food! We had the short rib, the chicken, and a Ceasar salad and Houmas salad. All were delicious, and the sauces and sides were on point. The chicken was so tender that I’m pretty sure it was sous vide before it was finished, truly moist and delicious. Honestly, this is a SPECIAL place. They welcomed us in even though we were not in fine clothing. Lauren, our server, was very sweet. We also met the owner and his awesome dog. This is a MUST TRY! It’s worth a destination dinner or to spend the day. It is a perfect place… I was blown away!

Great, slow-paced upscale restaurant! We came for a late lunch and we’re pleasantly surprised.

Service was almost too slow, we felt we had to wave him down every so often to get his attention. A group of servers was hanging out in the back room so they weren’t really out and about like I would’ve expected.

Food was fantastic, all the desserts were so yummy, my favorite was the strawberry shortcake! I couldn’t have the crab cake but my family gave it a 5/5 stars.

Restaurant hard to describe, on an old plantation with several other dinning establishments, a large garden with various birds. The carriage house does not prepare you for the ornately decorated interior. Food is wonderful with a nice selection available. Very

Great food, service and atmosphere. 4 out of 5 stars due to three things… first, the wine list was sparse and needs to be upgraded, next they have nice steak knives, but the rest are light weight cheap flatware and they only had one server for the entire dining room.
We were there early and received our food promptly, but the table next to us had to wait 30 minutes and then it came out wrong.
It’s such a beautiful place. Just needs a little attention and upgrade.

20240329 This restaurant is beautiful. The decor of the bar area is amazing. The bartender was very nice and helpful. I ordered to go so that we can eat outside with my pups. The crab and mango cake was delicious! The red fish was great. So was the shrimp po boy. The food is a bit expensive. I learned at the gift shop that if we eat at this restaurant, the admission to the garden is free. This makes the food price less expensive. The outdoor dining tables are located next to this beautiful water fountain.

The owner needs to learn that everyone doesn’t like dogs like him. We ate there Friday night and one of his dogs came to our table and put his head on the table next to my brother in law. We had to call the waiter which in turn called the owner to come and get his dog. Otherwise everything was good just don’t like going out to eat and have a dog sharing my table.
