One of the best Mexican restaurants in LA County! Great food and friendly stuff, whole vibe of this authentic place is really cool.

Plenty of space for large groups. On site parking was valet only for 3$. There were some paid street parking spots available during lunch time.
The indoor ambience is very Spanish as expected and the lighting is on the lower side, so be sure to pause a few seconds after you enter for your eyes adjust if you’re visiting for lunch on a bright sunny day.
Food portions were humongous and many of us in the group packed up our food for dinner. Food was delicious and service was great.

This restaurant has been a Santa Monica favorite since the 1960-s! It has some of the most delicious Mexican food in all of the greater southland – even Orange County ! The waiters are always very very nice and friendly . The place is a little bit dark , so it’s relaxing . I miss this place since we can’t dine in right now with the covid . Still , I get cravings for this most yummy spinach- cheese enchilada with rice and beans . Large enchilada , so tasty ! I get it to go , for the moment . Amazing that for a restaurant in Santa Monica , you can get a nice sized meal for about 12 bucks ! Great happy hour crowd and they play good music , which is nice . Great bartender and wonderful hostess . Great place

First time visiting. It was for a small, business Christmas party. The food was delicious. The staff was attentive. The drinks were very good. The decor was lovely. A little too dark for a restesetting for me but other than that, it was great and I will visit again.

Right. I live in the neighborhood, walking distance. Always drive by this place. After happy hour with friends was walking home and always curious about this place and stopped in to take a look at the menu. Wanted to check out the vibe too. It was fine and a old school spot. The hostess had a unfriendly demeanor. I asked to see the menu. Got an idea of the prices and then made a mental note to grab a burrito here at some point. Thanks the hostess for the menu and on the way out went to use the restroom. When I walked out she remarked ok your here just to use the restroom or you want to order. Ignored and made a note to mention this and also not come to such an unwelcoming spot. Wanted to support a local business but won’t be doing so here.

The turkey tacos are delicious here! 2 and I was full. Meat was tender and tasty. Steve the barman pours a good drink and has a great friendly, cheerful manner. Love coming to just hang out and listen to the regulars tell stories.

The food is pretty decent. Although, we have a 6 month old and a 5 year old, and they do not have any type of kids menu, high chairs or anything really for families. Seems like they only expect adults to eat there.

Drinks were fine. But all the non-meat items were not vegetarian. Enchilada sauce made with chicken stock. Beans made with lard, rice made with chicken stock, tortillas made with lard. So, it’s authentic Mexican food in this aspect. And probably delicious. But a horrible choice for a vegetarian! ☺

Very dark.. makes me wonder what it would look like all light up… or would I be afraid to see. Top shelf margarita was good– all tequila pretty much. Their hot sauce not so ‘hot’. I had the plate named picado and i asked for medium rare but i had no idea if it was. …too dark. Overall…it was ok. Service was good just not what i expected. Walking up to the front door, it looked like a strip club… no windows and dark inside.
