Buffalo Joe’s Roadhouse was a very nice restaurant situated in a beautiful area. Surprisingly they had a nice variety of items on the menu, far exceeding the typical bar and grill. I had the Greek salad/sliders which were very good, the tzatziki sauce was awesome. The owner was very interactive and ensured that everyone in our group had a great meal.

The food was good for it being cold. However the lack of communication and effort was extremely disappointing. We ordered for delivery and it said it would take an hour. Ok fine fair enough, however when you deliver food 20 minutes past the scheduled delivery time and it’s cold, not even a touch of warmth left that’s when I get upset. No call, no text, nothing. Just a cold food delivery and no apology for being late. I kind of regret giving a cash tip now. Maybe tip online, hopefully you’ll get your food faster and hotter than we did. Also don’t bother paying 5.50 for a half order of Onion rings, you’ll literally get 6 small/medium sized onion rings. Definitely not worth it.

The food is always good. It’s a relaxing place for lunch or dinner! We like to go there when we’re hiking, camping, canoeing, or fishing at the nearby Southwood Conservation Area.

Bar n Grill in a very small town in the Loess Hills. Perfect stopping point for your motorcycle ride through the hills on a nice day.
Place was clean and well kept up. Gravel parking lot, so beware of that if you wish not to ride or park on gravel. You can street park as well if that’s the case. Decor is not super modern but it not old by any means. It looks more like a neat up to date diner than a bar and grill. However, don’t let that deter you on the food.
Started with onion rings. Price wise, this was the only thing I was a bit disappointed by. You can see the amount I got in the basket in my picture, and seemed quite lite for $8. You can literally get a chicken sandwich for about the same price. I was ok spending $8 on onion rings, but I’d like to feel that I’m getting $8 worth as well, and there just wasn’t a lot there. However they were good rings, and the ranch was good too. Seemed a little thicker than what I’m used to, but I enjoyed it that way.
I had the Gunslinger burger which is the burger, pulled pork, bacon, cheddar, & onion tanglers. It’s a popular favorite there. Sandwich was quite good. Plenty cooked, yet plenty of moisture. Good flavor as well. Menu lists it as $1 cheaper than what I was charged, so that needs updated in their menus. It’s only $1, but it’s a pet peeve of many people to be charged more than what the menu says, so it should really be updated, even if needing a ghetto sticker in each menu. I’d get the sandwich again, and I’d be willing to try other things as well.
Chicken sandwich was also good. You can get it grilled or crispy and comes with lettuce, tomato and pickle. The choice for today was crispy. Was good and flavorful, and not dry. Worth getting again.
Everything is a la carte, so fries were additional, however, if coupled with a sandwich, they are only $2.00 to add to each meal. They were piping hot and good fries. Nothing fancy, but when they are fresh and hot, it’s hard to go wrong.
So, in a nutshell, it was a pretty good experience over all. Service was good, place was clean, prices for the most part were fair, and food was good. No doubt we’ll try this place again sometime.

We tried Buffalo Joe’s for the first time while visiting family in the area. The service was slow even though there weren’t very many people there. The food was good but nothing to write home about. No music or bar games at all. They have a good selection of beers. I should have tried the barbecue but elected for the mango habanero wings, which were pretty good but costly. The ice cream was everyone’s favorite.

Stopped in here about 11:30 for lunch, and the place was empty, except for the staff. The bar/restaurant itself is very nice, really big; seems oversized for as little business that it was doing (but Fri & Sat nights seem like it could be a fun place).
I had the special of the day, a rib sandwich; which was pulled rib meat on a bun, and for a side I went with potato salad. Both were good, nothing exceptional, but definitely good and worth ordering again. The rib-‘meat’/sandwich couldhave used a little more BBQ sauce, but that was just my preference, and I could have easily asked for some on the side.
Waitress was nice and friendly, and always made sure our drinks were full. Halfway through our meal, a lady came out, I’m guessing the cook, and asked how our meal was. That was a nice gesture, just goes to show that a restaurant cares about the customers and their service.
Will definitely be stopping here whenever we come through this way again.

Well, we made it back for our second visit finally, as my first 5-star review said. Everything was perfect, the same as the first time. Staff was very friendly, restaurant was clean and not packed with people, food came out fairly quick and was delicious. Two thumbs up!
