This is a nice burrito bar. It tastes like home cooked recipes that you would find in south west Texas. I’ve been to many small mom and pop Mexican places and this is a good one. I would recommend lunch time. It was not to busy and the service was fast and pleasant.

Jalapeños is by far my favorite restaurant on the island and easily the best Mexican food I’ve had in a long time! The service is excellent, they are all incredibly sweet. We’re huge fans of the bowls and the nachos, which are freshly made and homemade. Our favorite meats are the pastor and the spicy chicken. The portions are very generous, so you definitely get your money’s worth.
The restaurant itself is spacious, clean, and has a great atmosphere. Service is quick, and even when it’s busy, there’s never a line. Don’t miss out on the horchata and jamaica, they’re amazing. Honestly, we’ve tried almost everything on the menu and everything is delicious! This is our go-to spot for Sunday lunch, without fail.

Stopped in for lunch after the beach and the food was so good! Fresh ingredients, everything made to order, delicious home made chips, and to top it off, as we were leaving, my husband dropped his cup of salsa on the road outside and had to throw it away. We got in our car to leave, and the nice old gentleman tapped on our window and gave us a brand new salsa 🙂 Sweetest thing ever, and he had a huge smile on his face while handing it over 🙂

Incredible Mexican food – which is so hard to find on the island!!!!!!!! Delicious foods with amazing, authentic flavors. Portions are generous and pricing is fair for Hawaii. Especially love the Quesadillas and Bowls!! Carnita and Birria pulled beef were so good. All the ingredients are so fresh. We love coming here.

Highly recommended!!! If you’re craving authentic Mexican food, this is your spot. I stopped in on a Tuesday for their taco specials and was absolutely blown away. The tacos were legit, with tender meat, fresh onions and cilantro, and warm tortillas that hit the spot.
The chips and guacamole? Next level good. Incredibly fresh, creamy, and flavorful. Easily some of the best I’ve had in Oahu.
What really made the visit great though was the kindness and speed of the service. Everyone there was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely seemed to care about your experience. You can feel the pride they take in their food and service.
Whether you’re a local or just visiting Kailua, make this place part of your regular taco rotation. You won’t regret it.

Great authentic Mexican food served quickly. We were there on Tuesday for Taco Tuesday. I got to say it’s more accurate to say tiny Taco Tuesday, but I guess that’s how street tacos go. Next time we’ll try something a little more substantial.

This place is amazing! The food has actual FLAVOR! We got carne asada nachos, birria tacos, and a chicken burrito with fries for the little one. 10/10 will be back. Clean and fast service.

All in all pretty terrible. I might be biased because I’m from Texas, but this place was overhyped. Don’t waste your money. Over Easy is pretty good, tge tea place next door is VERY good for the price. There are other better options, more bang for your buck.
