The Tlingit tradition of offering food to friends and sharing in the abundance is a hallmark of the Heen Kahidi Dining room. Our restaurant is relaxed, low key, and loved by locals and visitors alike.
Chef Chris Lemerond creates culinary works of art with his own signature dishes. Menu items include a wide spread of Alaskan seafood, including Alaska King Crab, halibut and salmon. Unique menu items such as reindeer sausage and bison burgers add variety.
Take in the view while you enjoy our mouthwatering cuisine.

The five star rating is more for the service I received. My server Sean or Shawn, was very attentive and spoke calmy, I appreciated that a lot after a long 24hrs of flight cancelations and redirections in and out of Ketchikan. They answered all the questioned I had, cleared my plates as needed, also checking in often. I started with the tomato bisque and steake tips and both were delicious. I like when food is spiced and flavored well (tomato chunks could be a bit smaller tho, but thats just a personal preference about certain textures). The sauce the steak tips came with was great too! Then for dessert I tried the blueberry halibut -I think that was the fish- salad and it tasted just as delicious with a mix of sweet and savory, a combination I like a lot. Though I only wish there was maybe one more piece of fish. As for the prices all I can say is its Alaska and its tourist season, for the quality of ingredients and flavors I think its a fair trade off. One of the better meals I’ve had out here from a restaurant. And if you’re smart about how you pair your dishes together you can get a lot of satiation out of you experience. Meal cost me about $60 (for one). Thanks again Shawn/Sean for your calming and attentive demeanor.

I thought the food was tasty but did not like the steep prices. I subbed the seafood chowder for one of my sides–it was so delicious. I was full by the time my main course arrived. I luckily had a refrigerator in my hotel room, so I took leftovers to eat the next day. The Bushwacker Mojito was phenomenal. Maybe consider splitting a main entree and definitely try the seafood chowder. The dining room was quiet for our visit, and the views were amazing! We did walk up a lot of steps from Creek Street. I am not sure if there are other options for transportation during busier times.

JUST GO !! OKAY Melvin is the Man, ask for Him too service.. he made us feel as though we were the only people in the restaurant!! !!! We just arrived and now live in Ketchikan from Texas!! HK food is spot on “A Must Go “. Service and Menu are on point for Ketchikan!! Having a new pallet the entire dining experience was “Top Notch !” So do not believe anyone who has never traveled abroad and is a Foodie who stakes their reputation on a restaurant!! Be adventurous and try different foods and see how wonderful you feel experiencing something different!! Live a Little!!

this is gross. we lived on ketchikan YEARS and ate here dozens of times, we got take out as a treat tonight at this is what we got, the “halibut fries” was a small pile of fries with 2 small pieces of halibut on top. the burger looked like it was made of frozen beef pattys, and the “salad” was a clump of lettuce with 2 croutons. the food was insanely expensive for the quality of the food. this restaurant is not at all what it used to be

I’ve been to Heen Kahidi at Cape Fox Lodge several times over the years and it was always very good. However, this time (9/15/25) it was not even close to good. In fact, it was pretty bad. The short ribs had a delicious gravy but the ribs were so overcooked as to be inedible. Same with the halibut. We barely ate any of the food and it was a real disappointment as we looked forward to dinner overlooking the town at Cape Fox. The view is superb. I hope this was an anomaly and that the restaurant is really better than this very poor experience. I have no recommendation one way or the other.

Stopped for lunch on our port day – friendly service and great views. Check Facebook page for daily special – the pork sliders were the special of the day and fantastic! Very flavorful and filling.

This used to be a fabulous restaurant. The food has been in steady decline for years. Also, the hours on Google maps are incorrect.

Expected better from this restaurant considering it stands on Cape Fox Lodge’s reputation for service and quality.
During a recent dinnertime visit with a group of 12, we experienced slow and chaotic service at best up to the point where the entrees arrived.
This was not the typical slowness you’d expect with a larger table, this was a 20 minute delay on ~7 drinks and a further 20 minute delay on delivery of several bottles of wine for the rest of the table. We had a 7:00 pm reservation and the wine arrived at 7:40. Oof.
Refills on waters arrived the same time as the wine. Starters were delivered sometime in the middle. The food (starters and entrees) were presented well and were really good! Kudos to the kitchen for coordinating the timing on the entrees.
Overall it was not the best service at dinner. Our server seemed to lack either adequate help and/or experience in multitasking.
A few of our group visited again for breakfast the following morning and while the service was certainly faster, the standards and practices of the kitchen were questionable. One person in our party ordered the eggs benedict and the English muffin was burnt. Charred. We couldn’t believe the kitchen actually sent it out like that (see the picture).
On the whole, this restaurant has largely excellent food and some things to improve on in the service department. I would probably look somewhere else if you’re looking for a great experience.

Worst Valentine’s Day dinner ever. Bread was good mud pie was good main meal terrible. Rib eye was a poor excuse for a steak. Really thin cut and tuff. Bacon wrapped scallops were over cooked and dry, no lemon or sauce to go with. No baked potato or mashed for an option, just French fries. For $50 a plate for there special it was disappointing. Should have had a over priced burger. Ever sense the big menu change, quality has gone way down to try and cut corners and make more money. Use to be good but last few times eating both breakfast and dinner have been very disappointing. To bad they have to cut corners and serve terrible food in the winter to the locals. When we are there main source of income. Cut corners in the summer with the tourists but not with the locals.

We had a great experience here. Shawn was our server. We ordered the seafood pasta, halibut, crab dip, salads, steak. Everything was good. The atmosphere is nice and overlooks the town.
