First time eating at a Wintzell’s and we enjoyed it. Started with a friendly hostess greeting and seating us. Moved onto a friendly, attentive, patient, and knowledgeable server…Alex. She was very nice and answered all of our questions, the 1 or 2 she didn’t know she promptly found answers for us. The food was hot and fresh. We didn’t love it all but we enjoyed enough things that that won’t stop us from trying more things next time. We will definitely come back here.

The fried catfish platter was excellent. I also tried the Oysters Rockefeller but this was not as good as I’ve had it other places and recommend you skip it. . The service was prompt and friendly. One thing that did surprise me was that a 3.5 percent extra charge for using a credit card was tacked on the bill. So be aware if you’re paying with a credit card. This is certainly not expected and unusual to see in restaurants.

Delicious char grilled oysters. The fact that we were ignored for the first 20 minutes was forgiven due to the eventual superb service. A bit pricey , but will not deter our return. The photo says it all.

I give 2 stars instead of 1 because the food was good. Service not so good. Went last night 9/26/2019 and it took approx 10 min for waiter to take our order. We both ordered the half and half with salad and bread. We asked for the salads before the meal. Salads arrived and 30 seconds later the food arrived. Waiter forgot about the bread. Anyway, we ate it and received our check after another short wait. When we got the check the waiter added a 3.5% credit card fee without knowing we were paying with cash. My first visit to this place and last, just be aware these folks. May be making 3.5% more on many unaware cash customers.

Once again, the food was wonderful but not worth the price you have to pay. Service was excellent. The restaurant was very clean with a great atmosphere. Restrooms were clean. I will definitely be going back.

It was a relaxing atmosphere. The staff treated me like family and the food was amazing. I don’t know which was better, the fried oysters or the bacon wrapped shrimp. Be sure to try their fried green tomatoes with crawfish sauce, they put my grandma’s to shame.

Loved the option for $8.88 lunch specials. Grilled chicken salad with hush puppies on the side were delicious. Hubby had the shrimp and grits for the first time and enjoyed it too!! Will definitely be back soon!! ❤
