The atmosphere is so nice and cozy. A great spot for cold weather. Highly recommended the Mookata charcoal grill & hot pot. The meat quality is nice for its price. They also do Tap Asahi Beer

If you haven’t tried Mookata (Thai BBQ) yet, Aung Lo is the place to go.

It’s such a fun way to eat—you grill the meat on the dome in the middle while the vegetables and noodles cook in the soup on the side.

We got the Pork Set and the quality was amazing. The dipping sauces are authentic and spicy!

Hidden down a laneway, it feels like a secret spot in Bangkok or Tokyo. Highly recommend for a group dinner.

Quality chargrilled meat and a delicious salmon salad made the meal really enjoyable. The only downside was the garlic rice—it took over 30 minutes to arrive and came out a bit gooey, by which time I had almost finished my meat. Aside from that, the atmosphere was perfect, the sauces were full of flavor, and I loved the blend of Thai and Japanese influences.

This is the next level of MooKaTa (Thai BBQ). They use sliced pork and beef and nice quality, my partner he is not a big fan of Thai barbecue, but he really enjoys having this one. The seafood dipping sauce you have to pay for it, but it’s very good, must try

One of my favourite hidden Thai BBQ spots in Melbourne! The flavours are amazing — everything grilled over charcoal so the meat is super fragrant. We tried the A5 wagyu (surprisingly affordable) and it was incredible. The soup around the grill gets sweeter the more you cook your veggies in it. Such a fun, unique experience every time!

we ordered the beef delight + giant pork sets and were a bit skeptical on mixing the egg with the pork BUT it made the pork so velvety and soft??? it was pretty good and cooking the meats over charcoal added a nice smoky flavour. The soup had deep and sweet flavours, especially after cooking the meats in it. We pretty much enjoyed the best of both worlds with this mookata concept. the garlic scallop rice bowl is a dish we would recommend – the scallops were plump and cooked perfectly over a bed of garlic rice. The dipping sauce was salty, sweet and sour. Loved the ambience here!

The beef is tender with a buttery aroma when grilled. Around $50 per person, and it was a really satisfying meal.

The atmosphere in the restaurant is so bright, airy and friendly. It makes me feel like eating in a Japanese restaurant. As for the mookata, it tastes like eating in Thailand. The staff is lovely, friendly and always smiling. Very good service. Fresh ingredients, good quality, reasonable price, not too expensive.

Surprised by this Asian hotpot shop. It looks like Thai mixed with Japanese style. The hotpot is quite special—you can barbecue meat in the middle and cook the food in the surrounding soup area. Never have this before. The beef/pork is in big portion with very affordable price. Had a very amazing night here! The only thing I don’t like is the chair isn’t very comfortable and not many space to put my own belongings.

Great vibe for the place, good food, friendly staff. The place defiantly is a fun location with the inside being a shift in atmosphere.
The set menus are worth getting, the amount for the price is great.
Worth stopping for dinner.
