I was staying at the Mexican Inn and me and my sister decided to get some breakfast, we were greeted by Roman who took really good care of us, our breakfast was absolutely delicious. We came really early in the morning and so it was a nice slow pace. We were able to take pictures of the great decor on the walls, and the food came quickly.

The ingredients were hot. They were fresh and it was probably one of the best restaurant experiences we have had.

Very slow service. Waited an hour for our food. Did enjoy some bread, a glass of wine, and Moscow mule while we waited which was tasty but overall the service was very slow. One server for a relatively busy night in between Christmas and NYE. Restaurant is well decorated and is located inside of the swanky and eclectic Memphian hotel. Enjoyed but left hoping for more. Could have been just a slow night.

Went here one afternoon after work. It was fairly empty. They have a special menu for this time, happy hour. Got the Memphis Muse drink, which was really tasty and exactly what I needed: something not too strong but relaxing. And the double cheeseburger. No complaints about the burger. They have a really limited menu during happy hour.

Went to a birthday dinner Friday night, the food was so good, great atmosphere, perfect background for photos. I will be going again!

Updated review from my second visit:
CP hosted my birthday party this past weekend and it was the perfect venue for a large celebration; offering an array of craft cocktails from the friendliest bartender along with incredible appetizers! The exquisite decor, featuring ambient lighting and chic furnishings, creates a sophisticated atmosphere that enhances the photos! The manager, Harvey, elevated the overall experience, ensuring that every detail is catered to perfection. With a delectable dinner menu that delights even the most discerning palates, this restaurant truly deserves its five-star rating for exceptional service and unforgettable moments.

Kahlil and Branden were truly professional waiters. Provided a great atmosphere for me and my colleagues at our dinner. Branden was very enthusiastic and made us laugh with his charisma. Kahlil had good recommendations and I was able to try some new dishes with his input. Food was well seasoned and good portion sizes. I had the mushroom wellington and my husband had the pork chop. Both were good. My friend has the burger which was also good. Lamb rack could be cut through without a knife, very tender.

Stepping into Complicated Pilgrim was a delightful experience. The modern atmosphere, stylish decor, and overall vibe immediately set a welcoming tone. It’s clear that great thought went into creating an inviting space.

The service was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we were greeted with warm smiles, the staff’s exceptional customer service stood out, making the experience even more enjoyable.

The menu, though simple and easy to navigate, was surprisingly fitting for a restaurant with such a unique name. It was straightforward without being overwhelming—a pleasant surprise!

Now, onto the food. It felt like being back at grandma’s house for a classic Southern breakfast. The biscuits were buttery and flaky, easily a standout on the plate. The scrambled eggs were fluffy and perfectly cooked. However, the turkey sausage fell short of the meal’s high standard. It was thin, slightly dry, and reminded me of Great Value frozen sausage—a processed option that didn’t do justice to the otherwise exceptional meal. Substituting this with a higher-quality brand would elevate the entire breakfast experience.

The holiday decor was charming and prompted us to snap some personal pictures, adding to the overall warmth and joy of the visit. I look forward to returning to try more menu options and soaking in the ambiance again. This is a great spot for dining solo, with friends, or with family.

Rating: 4.5/5 (Fix the turkey sausage, and it’s perfection!)

We really enjoyed our breakfast here! The staff was super friendly, the food was top-notch, and the prices were totally reasonable. The restaurant is gorgeous—even the bathroom is pretty! It’s connected to a hotel and honestly, it’s one of the nicest spots to eat in Memphis. Definitely worth checking out!

Real life Love
I have been here a few times. Always had a pleasant time. But today. My server wasnt on point. We went to do breakfast. Long story short. Our server was given a debit card to cover a 25.00 ticket. She was given 40.00 to cover a ticket for 31.00 was told keep the change which would be 9.00 ….. But she decides she gone take the 40 bucks and pay for the 25.00 ticket leaving her 15 bucks. And charge the card for 31.00.. So she got 15.00 tip when she switched the money around. 25 from 40 is a bigger tip than 31.00 from 40. I didnt press it cause we gave her 2 separate black books no way she could mix them up. She then tried to act like we made a mistake when i called her out. I will be visiting again but will.leave if she is working..
