Beacon has excellent food and service! I had their prime rib sandwich (with grilled onions of course) and every bite was delicious! The meat was extremely tender and tore right apart with every bite. I give them extra points for their crispy fries, which resemble thin-cut “steak fries”. I can tell the staff and owner really care about the experiences of their guests, and that was reflected in their sincere discussions with us. It is very rare these days to find a restaurant that has as much integrity in their work as this one. I will definitely be back!

We went there on Saturday night to try their prime rib. They didn’t have it so they talked us into their prime rib steak sandwich. Don’t make that mistake the prime rib sandwich was horrible it was nothing but a Big Blob of fat on a little tiny bun. I had a couple of old fashions after dinner one was actually good. There was a table with six people that got up and left their dinners on the table without paying because the food was so bad they couldn’t eat it.

The atmosphere was amazing. I felt as if I was at a high class restaurant.
My wife got the chicken breast sandwich (pictured below) she loved.
I got the burger and the quality of the meat was amazing! The sweet potato fries were the best I’ve had!
Also the cheese curds were the best!
Highly recommend

Service: I’ve been there twice in the last two months. The service I experienced with our waitress the 1st visit was fine but the bartender on the 2nd visit was lacking, and there were only four others there besides our party of four.
Food: Had an order of cheese curds. $10 for 15 curds. You decide if it’s worth that amount. The “crispy” chicken ranch wrap was tiny, the chicken was flavorless and was not crispy. It had an off taste, and the ranch was runny/watered down tasting. I believe it was between $12-$15.
I’d say the food was the most disappointing of the experiences. I’d meet up with friends again for drinks there, but would not give the food a 3rd try.

So, The Beacon has been sold and unfortunately they have the same menu but it’s not as good. We went for the prime rib as it’s always been phenomenal. Not anymore. Prime is usually like butter and is just so tender. I get mine med rare and it was cold and tough. Even the baked potato was a disappointment. It was a definite waste of money. If you want to use the same menu and name then stick with what works. I don’t even think the cut of meat was prime rib. And no flavor as well. The drinks were good.

This place was amazing! The exterior is nice, small parking lot, and when you walk in it has more of a bar feeling than sit down restaurant. We were greeted the moment we walked through the door and the atmosphere became even more inviting once Kim came to our table. She was beyond pleasant, very helpful and provided great suggestions to my friends and I, and provided exceptional service. The prices were so pocket friendly, and the food was delicious! We didn’t have anyone disappointed at our table. We began with the fried cheese “bread” and cheese curds which were brought with some unique dipping sauces (and of course ranch, ha) I had the crispy chicken sandwich with waffle fries and added bacon… That bacon, whew, it was amazing! The sandwich was delicious, waffle fries a bit overcooked, but that was minor in the grand scheme of things. My friends all loved their food as well. Kim made the experience. I will definitely be back.

Please see my update below!
Ownership has changed…and you can tell with the food. Just ordered the fried chicken dinner with tots and hush puppies, crispy chicken wrap with tots, key lime pie and peanut butter pie. WOW has the fried chicken dinner changed! It is no longer the best in Racine. On the contrary it went from crispy breaded, seasoned and moist to floured, drab and dry. The hush puppies were over cooked to the point of almost being burnt. We also received 2 key lime pies instead a pb pie and a key lime pie. I’m about to call and talk to them but not confident on the outcome.
Update: 5/28/2025, 6:30pm.
Per my last review I called and spoke to staff, expressed my concerns, and was told to give them another chance to deliver. And boy I’ll tell you…180 degree difference from my last visit! I ordered the same fried chicken dinner with the same sides…and it was all perfect! Now mind you that I’m typically skeptical when picking up food, especially when I’m giving it another try, to believe staff when I’m told that the food is perfect, but it was! Chicken was fried to perfection, seasoned perfectly, and still crispy after traveling for about 7 minutes…I mean it, it was the BEST I’ve had in a long time. Hush puppies were cooked well, not overdone, and the tots were done well. We also ordered the prime rib French dip which was also tasty and done well, topped with pepper jack cheese and grilled onions. As long as the fried chicken is prepared this way every time, I will continue to order that item on a regular basis, and I highly recommend it to all fried chicken connoisseurs! Last thing…to all other businesses in the greater Racine area, the Beacons efforts were the perfect example of a successful service recovery!
