I dine at Taku on 7th Street in Garden City on an average of two times a week. The service is excellent and the staff are so friendly and knowledgeable about the wonderful menu. I have dietary restrictions and there is never a problem with accommodating these restrictions. All the servers and the manager have made helpful suggestions for my choices many times. The sushi chefs are so talented and creative that they surprise me each time with delicious sushi rolls that are practically works of art. I leave it up to them and they create rolls and appetizers that are totally safe for me to eat and are incredibly delicious. I highly recommend Taku to anyone and it is definitely my “go to” place with family and friends who always enjoy the food, the warm friendly staff and the comfortable setting as much as I do.

Nice atmosphere in in a small 40 seat dining room. The portions are a bit too large, however maintain qualify. Chef note, the soups could be updated for broth flavor, the eggplant and tofu needs a sauce update. The nassau sushi is perfect. The shrimp tempura is perfect and the fry oil is Fresh! The owner is very attentive to the restaurant operation. I will return.

They are one of the best sushi restaurants I have ever been to!! We dined inside and the vibe was really cozy and peaceful. They have plenty of outdoor dining space and there’s a huge parking lot in the back.
We ordered hibachi steak, chicken ramen, 100A roll, and Adelphi roll.
Hibachi steak and ramen were alright, not too bad and nothing extraordinary. Ramen just felt like regular noodles to me. Sushi on the other hand was the best!! Totally loved it! I would definitely love to try the other rolls on their menu.
Staff was super friendly and the service was quick. Their prices are also reasonable according to the portions. I’ll definitely recommend this place for sushi.

I’ve been here 2 times for dine in and 4 times for takeout. All times my experience was neither bad or good. Just regular customer service. Today I placed in order over the phone. I walked in to pay for my order once I got to the cash register I stated what I was picking up and she replied. Do you have cash? I said no, and she directly said afterwards, next time, bring cash. She stated usually if a bill is less than 15$ they won’t do it. This was never told to me and I think deliver upon that request could’ve been nicer. Me and my friends usually walk to this location because it’s very close to where we live, but will now go out of our way to find a place with better customer service. On a good note, food is usually good, but this spoiled my experience.

Worst Experience ever. Walked in wearing a yarmulke and the man told me no hats allowed. I explained this is my religion and he still gave me a hard time. Forcing me to take it off in front my wife. They refused to let me in with my yarmulke. I decided to order takeout and at least give the food a chance and it was not to my liking although it was not the best, it was not to bad. What place does not allow religous clothing? Worst experience ever

My family and I took my father to a casual dinner here. We had been here once already and enjoyed it so much, we had to come back!

But back to the restaurant! The atmosphere is very relaxed. All kinds of people come in, from an old couple to a small group of four friends.
I ordered something simple–the illusion salmon. But what I saw and ate was a delicious display of fresh salmon.
The special dishes are extraordinarily beautiful!

My boyfriend and I come here all the time. Although it’s not big, it is very nice and clean with plenty of tables to dine in. The food is always great and fairly priced. The service is amazing. Everyone who works there is very kind. I truly recommend this place if you are in the area or an Adelphi student. As for rolls, the Adelphi roll, Redhead roll and 100A roll are delicious. Plenty of parking spots as well and the area is nice for a walk around.
