Cute place with nice outdoor seating area. Tacos were delicious. Tried pork belly, fish, pastor and chicharron. All hit. Generously filled and nice fresh tortillas. They had a really good house hot sauce too. Good drinks as well. I’ll definitely be back.

I went to Botanico Tacos & Tequila with high hopes, but the tacos I ordered (which included pastor, rooster, and pork belly) were honestly some of the most disappointing I’ve tried. I only managed a single bite of the pastor and pork belly before pushing them aside. The pork belly was drenched in an overpoweringly sweet sauce that clashed horribly with the salty cotija cheese. The flavors fought each other in a way that was completely off-putting. The pastor was just as unappealing, with a strange spice profile that tasted like cinnamon, which felt completely out of place. To make it worse, both tacos were served cold, which made the textures even more unpleasant. The rooster taco never even got a chance. By then I had lost all appetite.
It was frustrating because presentation-wise, the tacos were actually beautiful, and the restaurant itself is gorgeous, inside and out. But when food looks great and tastes borderline inedible, it only makes the disappointment sting more. The choice of country music in the background also felt oddly mismatched with the otherwise stylish vibe; something livelier, like reggaeton, would have set the atmosphere much better in my opinion.
The one saving grace of the afternoon was the service. Our waitress was fantastic! Warm, attentive, and genuinely one of the best I’ve had anywhere. I wish the kitchen lived up to the same standard. Unfortunately, the food was such a miss for me that I can’t imagine coming back for another meal.

Soooo good!! As advertised, the tacos and tequila (margaritas) were amazing. Our favorite taco was the pork belly: perfectly crispy and sauced. Margaritas were well made- I loved my skinny marg. The decorations were SO pretty, inside and out. We enjoyed dining outside. They have swings for kids and adults, which we enjoyed Our server mentioned that they have a live DJ starting at 10 PM on the weekends, which sounded fun. We will be returning, especially when we need to impress a friend with a fun local restaurant!

The carne asada quesadillas was so good even down to the cheese and accompanied with mango salsa was perfect can’t complain plus the fact that it’s huge. The ceviche was ok it would be better if it had shrimp too. It was just wihite fish as it says on the menu. Was ok. The nachos de pastor the seasoning brown sauce was very bland it was not very good did not like not sure because pastor flavor is normo salty and good but did not like it here I think the tacos are way over priced but the portions of tapas are huge. Great atmosphere must say has a lot of potential. And the staff are so inviting and sweet. Still thinking of trying it out again. We will see. My food was good but my family didn’t like there’s. So we will see.

Don’t usually leave reviews for a restaurant but this place is the best! My favorite is the crispy pork belly tacos! (Look at photos ) I always get them! So delicious and the outside eat/play area for my kids to play is an comfortable experience, I can watch them while sitting at the table, the atmosphere is perfect with great staff always helping out! The music and drinks will get you moving doing a food dance! lol

If you are thinking one day to get Mexican food specially tacos come to Botanico each taco has an upgrade luxury flavor on it , I know Mexican tacos for many of you would be onions and cilantro but this with the different kind of salsa and things that they put on it you get a new experience and you get in love with the place for the unique flavor and quality that they offer, don’t forget to try the guacamole, it was on point .
The owners are doing great with this place, I’m so glad that they open this place in Mount Dora!

Good service, lovely atmosphere with a children and adults play area in the outside area. The house Margaritas were disappointing, not much flavor and certainly not a lot to them. The tacos were flavorful, and the house made corn shells were amazing! We had the elotes appetizer, and once we squeezed the limes on it, it was very good.

I had an amazing experience at Botanico Tacos and Tequila! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating such a great atmosphere from the moment I walked in. I tried a variety of dishes, including the vegetarian taco, pork belly, fish taco, and nachos – each one was absolutely delicious! The flavors were fresh and vibrant, and I couldn’t get enough. The drinks were also fantastic—tasty and refreshing, perfectly complementing the food. I’ll definitely be back again! Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great food, drinks, and service! Family friendly is also a plus! My daughter loved the swings and the music!

A nice, modern and cute mexican restaurant in Mount Dora. The flower decorations remind me of a spanish garden. They have inside seating, patio seatting where children can play on a playground, and a covered patio with sofas and huge TV’s for a larger group. We started with a selection of dips , different flavors from the common mexican places. They have a small menu because every taco or dish is a gourmet creation, carefully prepared. The pork belly tacos are smoked before fried, and they are delicious!. The house Margaritas are great at fair prices. They have a children’s menu.
Botanico is known for the late night dance and party atmosphere from 10:00 p.m. On Sunday they have Salsa days.
I did not give it a 5 star because the bathroom smelled awful and because it is an informal restaurant compared to others, but the tacos are fabulous. Great service.

I was used to this building being the old Zellies restaurant which always loved. I was pleasantly surprised at how really clean this new restaurant is. The menu is California Mexican cuisine per the employee that showed us around. The back outside area has been completely redone. It has a nice sitting area with TV on one side and a pleasant outdoor eating area on the other. The menu items were mostly unfamiliar to me, so I went with the fish tacos It was Taco Tuesday so all tacos were just $4 each.They were pretty good but reminded me of the Gordon’s fillets. I liked the red cabbage on the taco though. There are lots of staff members and all were very friendly.
