The 8 ounce beef brisket plate was my selection. Very very tender and moist meat. I enjoyed it with their white sauce which had a great flavor. The seasoned fries tasted great as well. The coleslaw was a kind of unique taste with the celery seed. I will definitely keep this establishment on my list for another visit soon! Enjoy your visit!

Their BBQ is fantastic. At first I was worried when they didn’t give us a knife with their brisket. The brisket was so tender that it broke apart just using the fork. Amazing.
Service was good too. I ordered a cucumber salad. The server brought my meal out to me and said he had just finished making it (they had so many orders that they ran out). He was worried it hadn’t marinaded long enough in the vinegar. He said he would bring me any other side if I didn’t like the cucumber salad. I kept it bc it was great.
The only downside was the cost. We spent $52 for two brisket orders and sodas.

I’ll preface this with the fact that we went at a bit of an off time, (4pm) so maybe the bbq was not the freshest, but it was only okay.
The meats were dry. The ribs were the worst offender here, we didn’t even finish them as large portions were dry and tough. The brisket was the most tender, and I really liked the white BBQ sauce. Overall nice vibe and am hoping that we just hit it at an off day.

Nice place to get some great barbecue and decent prices. I like sitting inside when it’s cooler cuz outside in St. Charles area. It’s very hot. Pulled chicken is exceptional. Body us notes

The BBQ sauce was disappointingly lackluster, lacking in flavor and excitement. The baked beans resembled cheap canned beans with just a faint hint of BBQ sauce. The Mac & Cheese was excessively dry, resembling sawdust rather than a creamy delight. The food quality simply did not meet the expectations set by its price. However, the fries stood out as the best part of the meal, providing a satisfying and delicious experience.

The 1798 BBQ is a small bbq house tucked into Historic Cottleville that leaves you wanting more. The minute you walk in the door it becomes clear through the immediate scent of barbecue that you are in-store for some delicious food. I started off with their Smoked Sliced Brisket Sandwich with Fresh Cut Fries. I accompanied it with both their sweet and spicy bbq sauce for some added flavor. I was not let down. The meat was tender, juicy and packed full of flavor. The fries were salted well and perfectly crispy. Despite being stuffed I wrapped up the meal with their Banana Pudding which was incredible. I left stuffed but found myself excited to come back. Do yourself a favor and stop in for a meal.

This is our latest parking lot date spot! 1798 makes me sing like Fetty Wap, but pound food like Buffet Brittney.

I do feel fifty bucks for two entrees, two sides, and two cookies is a bit much, but their brisket is fire!

To my fellow Saint Louisians who dig a creamy, sharp mac & cheese, allow me to spare you disappointment. Sadly, the last two times I’ve ordered 1798’s mac & cheese, it rather tastes like milk noodles.

But this is for surely a treat in beautiful Cottleville!

Had a delicious dinner with our family here. Kids each had burgers that they loved. I had the burger with candied jalapeños that was delicious, too, and my wife had the smoked chicken sandwich that was absolutely incredible. That smoked chicken was the bomb!!

You HAVE to get the cornbread corn!!
