This place was recommend for is tacos, fortunately that wasn’t the only thing we ordered. We got the asada, pollo and birrieria tacos and a breakfast burrito. The tacos were all dry and lacking any real flavor. The burrito was decent but considering we just had a pretty good one, this can’t up short, especially since it was more expensive. Even the salsas were of lower quality. If you need food it’s all edible here just not enjoyable.

Tasty! Came for the homemade tortillas! They were good!! Had asada, carnitas and birria by far the birria was the most flavorful. Had an asada torta that I did enjoy it was good. I love tortas and would go back for one with the birria but then would eat it there so my bread didn’t get soggy.

Stopped by for Friday lunch. Very short queue and tacos were served up in minutes.
Ordered two fish tacos and two carne asada tacos with salsa verde.
Outstanding tacos. Tortillas are fresh and tasty to boot.
Definitely will be coming back to try more during this trip.

Stopped for a quick lunch and it definitely did not disappoint.
We got 2 fish tacos, veggie taco and spicy pork burrito. Everything was super flavorful and very reasonably priced. Super friendly staff and fast service. Highly recommend!

The food and service were great. The sitting area was very clean but it is just a place to sit and eat your food which was all we needed. We weren’t looking for anything fancy, just a place to grab a quick, good Mexican food lunch and it was all of that.

Came here to get the fish tacos and the veggie tacos. Fish tacos were really good, veggie tacos were kind of meh. I would definitely recommend the fish tacos for anybody who is passing through here. The french fries were pretty good as well. The people who work here were very nice, the only downside of the restaurant really is that it’s kind of not kept very clean in the dining area. When I was there all of the tables were dirty. Very busy place though. I would definitely recommend stopping here and having some food.

El Cuate is a staple in my household. Lola’s chicken sandwich is the best chicken sandwich that money can buy. It snaps the taste buds into the present. If you ever wondered how to stop worrying, go consume this sandwich! The flavors are melded together perfectly! I always ask for extra chipotle mayo on the sandwich as well as on the side to eat with their house-cut French Fries! OMG…soooooo good!!!!

Quite simply the best Mexican food you can eat in the Columbia River Gorge. These folks have nailed the flavor combinations. It’s never off. You will enjoy your meal and come back I promise. The fish tacos are such a thing of beauty and simplicity [chef’s kiss].

As most of you know, we are not big connoisseurs of Mexican food, but one of my regular customers, Phil Metcalfe recommended this place. He suggested the fish taco and I also ordered a breakfast burrito. Tina ordered the quesadilla. Another one of my regular customers, Ricardo owns this place. The food and the hospitality were exceptional and I would highly recommend this place.
